| If you had $12,000 for speakers and amp I would do exactly what I did : Legacy Whispers and McCormack DNA-500 amp. Lots of power, musicality, detail, imaging, layering, etc. They work really well together - the Whispers just sing!If you're careful, can be done for about $12K used. | |

| Which Power Amplifier to buy: Sunfire or Parasound Never had a Parasound. Have owned 3 Sunfire pieces and still own 2. Current and voltage outs on the front 3 channels give an almost "tube-like" sound with lots of power. Unmatched at its price-point IMO. Service is excellent and so is build quality. | |
| VTL, CTC, Lamm, ARC, EAR, Halcro, Mark Levison If you can hear a VAC Phi 2.0, do so before you make your decision. It very impressive - great dynamics, transparency and soundstaging - it just gets out of the way of the music. Phono stage, build quality and service are second to none, IMO. | |
