Wavac vs. Air Tight /300B's I would wait and see how the Shindo pre sounds w/ yourAir Tights, and current system first. You could be perfectly happy with your system at that point. If you are curious about the Wavac vs. your AT, call Stanton Sound. He not only carries both, ...

suggestions for pre amp for Quikie v4 monos I assume your V-4's are the single ended version. If so,the Shindo Monbrison may be worth consideration. Of Course you would be looking used, to stay at your budgeted 5K. My guess is out of the two excellent (the warm) suggestions by Samhar, you w...
Saw the Gregg Allman band last night. Adam 18 : "It was a real treat to hear him sing on Sunday night." It sure was ! I have not heard any of his solo albums, so maybe I will check out one of the ones mentioned. I do love the ABB: Idlewild South album though. Wireless 200: It was defi...
Who makes a GM-70 based SET? Just for price comparison, the Dehavilland is 12 K, theShindo is 17 K. I would think with any of these, you would want a speaker at least 89-92 db, w/ a flat 6-8 ohm impedance.
Tube-friendly speakers David12, Congrats on your decision. What amp did you hear driving the Nines when you heard them. What was just the basic reason you went with the Dadealus over the Nines.I am not second guessing you, but simply curious.
Help building new system: devore, verity or Sonus? Brookjoo, which specific Luxman and Leben amps did you hear. I assume maybe they were integrated amps.
Thoughts on SPUs I have recently heard the Ortofon SPU Royal N cart that retails for $1,495. I heard it twice within the last couple of months , and was very impressed with it's more laid back and musical presentation. To my ears, it was more enjoyable than anothe...
Neil Young/ CSN new vinyl releases Thanks for the link to your review 51nocaster, certainly sounds like a great job done by Rhino on this one. I listened to the Neil Young: Everybody Knows this is Nowhere last night. Overall, I was really impressed by it. I thought it leaned toward...
Well Tempered Amadeus VS WT reference I recently heard the Amadeus, and was very impressed. The cartridge was the EMT TSD-15. It really seems to be a bargain at it's price point. I am saving my pennies to get one, and have it as a second TT. That's not to say it won't be as good or be...
Verity Audio midrange drivers? As I said, my advice came from someone whom I respect, but my opinion is based on his advice. It sounds as if Michael has heard the Rienzi, so I would follow his advice. I am sure you will be happy with them. Verity does not make a bad speaker, th...
Kudos to Audio Research "I have to say that my experience with cj amps is exactly the opposite of Jwm's. I've owned cj amps for over 20 yrs, beginning with the MV75A1 and currently the LP 150 Ms. The amps have been like battleships and have never once had a bad or old tu...
Verity Audio midrange drivers? Mark, it sounds like the Ovation's may be out of your comfort range price wise. It is certainly out of the range of many, including myself at the moment. Your thread is interesting to me, as the Parsifal Encore brought me several years of listenin...
Neil Young/ CSN new vinyl releases The David Crosby is a winner IMHO. Great music, and sound. It was different than CSN, but I still heard the influence. Artists on the album included Joni Mitchel, Graham Nash, and many Grateful Dead members. Just after enjoying the album, I put on...
Verity Audio midrange drivers? Mark, Something is not jiving here. I tried an Art Audio Jota on my Encores, and it was not even close to being enough power. It didn't drive them, not even a matter of opinion. Either the amp you heard was the ballsiest 20 watts ever, or perhaps ... |
