A friend told me JBL DD67000 is actually very bad speaker, is it true? Thanks, I'll look up Ed Meitner.
SET on JBL Everests - Mouse breeding an elephant? Thanks for the info, much appreciated. I just recently started upgrading and had never heard of this approach.
Please help me not make a dumb mistake Is there a reason that you don't want to use the low level inputs? I've always found that using the low level inputs sounds better to me. The REL "experts" disagree however. You can use the high level inputs, but that won't allow you to limit the ...
Pioneer M-72 Capacitors You don't need to get Elna brand capacitors, just get good quality audio grade electrolytic. I use Nichicon, but any good audio cap will do. I personally try to get the largest microfarad replacement capacitors for the power supply filters that wi...
A friend told me JBL DD67000 is actually very bad speaker, is it true? A couple 9V batteries in crossover? I just read the D67000 manual and it says the internal crossover has a couple 9V batteries to keep the crossover energized. Has anyone heard of this approach before and does any other speaker manufacturer do this?

Any Love For Bryston Here? Bryston equipment is top notch, I haven't heard a bad sounding amp from them. Their amps have some of the highest slew rates I've seen, 60 V/µs, which translates into high power at high frequencies. Just what one desires for realistic instrument a...
Aged components / service!? Preamps don't generate a lot of heat unless they are tube. I would not buy a used tube anything and I can repair just about all audio equipment. Bryston is an excellent audio manufacturer and they have a great warranty.
How to tell if Raidho ribbon tweeter is damaged? If it sounds okay to you, then it's probably fine.
Heat Heat is the enemy of audio equipment. The lower and more constant you can keep equipment, the longer it usually lasts. Failures primarily occur from thermal cycling. I'm not saying to keep your equipment on all the time and I don't like the noise ...
eBay secretly over charged sellers That's only one of the reasons I don't sell on ebay any longer... I've had good luck with Reverb, Audiogon and US Audio Mart.
Dedicated 20a lines, 125 feet distance, which gauge wire to run? For me, no Niagara at the subpanel. That's just a bad idea if you have a problem, you'll need an electrician again unless you're handy. Good ideas on the wire, your electrician sounds competent. Silver plated outlets, not gold.
Your last concert was to see who and when? The Beach Boys, last night at Vina Robles. Fun show, enjoyable, but still poor sound system. Thought they would have improved it since The Moody Blues back in 2015, but NO... Not going back to VR.
Dedicated 20a lines, 125 feet distance, which gauge wire to run? Use a subpanel absolutely. Use largest gauge wire to minimize wire resistance and voltage drop for the best results. +1 gs5556. Your weakest link will be the connectors, silver plated high grade outlets.
Can LM224 be used to process an AC signal? Yes it can be. Use the highest supply voltage that you can for best performance. What output level are you wanting to obtain? |
