Blind Test: mp3 vs. 24bit
Close but the discussed mp3's are not quite as good on my system. I'm curious, what's your point of this comparison?
Power Down Sequence for Amp / TT to Avoid Speaker Pop
Yes, check or replace capacitor across TT on/off switch. And you are right; Amps on last and off first.
Room Acoustic Treatment
I was pleasantly surprised by vicoustic products. Worth a look, I'm now using them.
Replacing selector knob
Is the "knob" bad or the selector switch? Replacing the switch would be a lot of work, so try a good cleaner/lubricant that has been suggested.
VARIAC: Procedure??? 2 old 30 wpc tube amps, unused for 4 years
I agree with jea48 and totem395. Four years isn't very long really for new caps, I doubt you will have any problems. I have a variac and use it often on old equipment. For me, I wouldn't even use it for these Fishers if what you're saying is accur...

Considering ditching 5.1 for a soundbar; suggestions?

Thanks, I'll look up Ed Meitner.
SET on JBL Everests - Mouse breeding an elephant?

Please help me not make a dumb mistake
Is there a reason that you don't want to use the low level inputs? I've always found that using the low level inputs sounds better to me. The REL "experts" disagree however. You can use the high level inputs, but that won't allow you to limit the ...
Pioneer M-72 Capacitors
You don't need to get Elna brand capacitors, just get good quality audio grade electrolytic. I use Nichicon, but any good audio cap will do. I personally try to get the largest microfarad replacement capacitors for the power supply filters that wi...
