Preamp Deal of the Century
Snopro, I tried iso-cups previously and they weren't as good as the cones, but that was using them under the metal plate. I currently use them under my amp, but I may have to try them under my preamp now that I have changed my preamp isolation setup.
Preamp Deal of the Century
I have been auditioning new interconnects and in the process I was forced to move my Chardonnay due to differing IC lengths which forced me into a new quest for isolation for my preamp. What a fortunate turn of events. I previously had my Chardonna...
What isolation feet to use??
There have been many reports of great success with maple, but it seems I may be the lone dissenter. I tried 2 1/2" cutting boards under my components and they were terrible. Depending on the component, they either sucked the life out of the music ...
Best Sounding Passive Preamp
Lightspeed Attenuator - do a little homework. You won't regret it.http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=80194&perpage=25&pagenumber=1
Gabriel Gold IC's are they really this good?
"Evolution! that sounds like a good name for a GG cable?"Bobf, unless I am missing something here, I think Gabriel "REVELATION" and "RAPTURE" may have implications about the cable designer's philosophy (I hope so) and I am not sure "Evolution" wou...
Has anyone here tried the Lightspeed Attenuator?
Baranyi,Sorry for not responding to your post sooner, but I haven't responded for two reasons. One, I have been really busy and two, I haven't put my Supratek back in my system since I received the Lightspeed to do a head-to-head comparison. I sim...
Has anyone here tried the Lightspeed Attenuator?
You may have already read this thread, but I posted some initial impressions about the Lightspeed. I bought it on a lark after reading the DIY thread and I am mighty impressed with the results in my system.http://forum.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/fr.pl?a...
the tough question: Which preamplifier? and why
Clio,George, the manufacturer of the Lightspeed, recommends no more than 1K Ohm output and no less than 47K Ohm input.Frankly, I am shocked at how good this preamp is.
the tough question: Which preamplifier? and why
Lightspeed Attenuator.Incredible dynamics, explosive bass, articulate, transparent, meat-on-the-bones passive!Everything I have experienced from active preamps (both tube and ss) with no grain, grit, glare, etc. and with typical passive transparen...
Capacitor log Mundorf Silver in Oil
"...the tone and timbre was not real anymore." Several very HIGH-end amp and speaker manufacturers now include V-caps in their designs. Several of these same manufacturers have said publicly that V-caps are the best caps they have ever heard or "n...
Need a Solid State Pre Amp For under $2000
I currently have the Ayre K-5xe and Rowland Capri inhouse for a side-by-side evaluation. I am shocked at how musical the Capri is. The K-5xe may eventually bloom into an equal performer (just had the "Evolution" upgrade), but at the moment, the Ca...
Capacitor log Mundorf Silver in Oil
VCaps are fabulous. I would be very curious to hear how they compare to Duelunds.I went from Auricaps, to Mundorf Supremes to VCaps in my DAC and preamp and the VCaps were easily the biggest improvement hands down. I thought the Mundorfs were a bi...
Preamp Deal of the Century
Glad you're enjoying the Mundorfs, Jeff
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?

Preamp Deal of the Century
Maril,What? You're not to be questioned? How was Pjwd disrespectful? His post was clever and succinct, but not disrespectful. It sounds like you've spent too much time convincing yourself and probably your patients that you are special. Relax. Docto...
