Dumb lo-fi question.
I guess I wonder why there are two sets of outputs on a unit of that vintage? Is that a holdover from the old idea of "quadraphonic" sound?
Speaker positioning games. Where can I go from here?
Ha, ha ha, Just had o mention that. I have tried to live by that credo but understand it doesn't work for everyone.

I believe it was Nick Mason of Pink Floyd that said....(now use your best British accent here)........."speakers ought to be big enough to put your granny in." That's all the advice you need!
Whats playing on your system today?
From the Echoes Living Room Concerts Volume 8 a tune called Steel Harmonics from Robert Rich. Next up, Wave World, Mountain.
Sticking with CD's for now
I had an Ayre C5xeMP and did exactly what you propose. I chose a Holo Audio Spring Kitsune Level 3 DAC which I see has now been upgraded. https://kitsunehifi.com/product/springdacgreen/The sound was fantastic. I then decided to go on a sole CD tra...
A comparison between two DACs, one R-2R, the other ES 9038-based.
I appreciate your comparison and since that Denafrips is obviously way over priced I would be happy to take it off your hands for a meager sum. ;-)
How important is it for you to attain a holographic image?
How interesting this thread should pop up now. I am waiting on a pair of Spatial Audio M3 Turbo S "Hologram" speakers to arrive any day now. The sound stage is supposed to be amazing. Can't wait!
Looking for suggestions on best small footprint speaker under $4K

Best song for immediate impact when presenting or testing?
Andreas Vollenweider, La Strega & The Grand Ball of the Duljas opening tracks from the Book of Roses LP. If you have a good system, this will blow you away. Be sure to crank it up! (it isn't that great on YT, stream it)https://www.youtube.com/...
Overwhelmed and under experienced...
Many have touted the benefit of having a cable "loom" which uses all the same cables for each piece of equipment. I can't speak to this per se but I have gone to all Silnote power cables in my system and they seem to work just fine. They are good ...
Beyond the sound of things, and into the soul of things.
Man I just love open reel. There is still the problem with drop-outs, head cleaning etc. but man does it sound sweet, especially half track as mentioned by tomic601. That Revox machine is awesome. I have to admit that CD's are so damned convenient...
What are you streaming tonight?
Leonard Cohen - Old Ideas
Beyond the sound of things, and into the soul of things.
Consider this. The digital signal is a series of reference points selected from the analog waveform. A magnetic tape is the alignment of magnetic particles by the record head. Slices, particles, are they really that different?
Spatial vs Pure Audio Project
Just pulled the trigger on a pair of M3 Turbo S's. Can wait to experience the open baffle design although I am a bit hesitant with them being so different than a box speaker.
