Bass Response on Dunlavy SC-IVa
Yeah you're dealing with differnt issues with speakers designed like that. The basic "layman's" answer to all of this is that the IV's will do better set up in large spaces, or where at the very least they're on the "Long wall"!(where you can get ...
state of the art home theatre....
True, I agree WAF for inwalls. But I do think wall monted compact monitors(even in white) can be an attractive and much better sounding alternative...yet another reason I vote for the M&K K7 system with K4 dipoles for surrounds w/sub. Even wit...

Something tells me, Phasecorrect isn't a "local shop" kinda guy. Just an assumption. I could very well be wrong.I'd consider probably, yes, spending much more on the video system for your dad, and probabaly get a good(maybe used...although other o...
If Thiel, Wilson, Sonus, made active speakers?????
I also see no reason(not fully understanding driver matching/integration/mating with amps or whatever) why speaker makers couldn't produce active speakers, find or develop a perfectly matching electronic external crossover box, and then either sim...
If Thiel, Wilson, Sonus, made active speakers?????
..."But where would the tubes go? (Nrenter)"...Actually, the tubes would go in your "pre/amp", where they belong (see CAT's world class pre's)!As for Aroc's comments, I wholey trust that a high end speaker who's proficient at either building drive...
If Thiel, Wilson, Sonus, made active speakers?????
Actually, If I'm not mistaken (probabably forgot on B&W), Martin Logan is a summation of two names! I think it's the last name of two individuals....not Martin Logan, as a single peron's name. I could be wrong..dont' think so however.Anyway, I...
B&W 803 Nautilus -HELP
Yeah, what Lafish said...scrap the Tag as a 2 channel pre...it doesn't cut it.
Review: Klipsch RF-7 Speaker
Let's put this in perspective a bit more for all listening/posting here......I've owned and sold Klipsch's for years. I've heard this speaker, as with most of the rest of the current Klipsch Refernce line as well...although I've not sold the curre...
I need help with my room
Onhwy61's response sounds about right. Where you're measuring has a lot to do, as well as with speaker locations. Simply ploping your microphone in the room and measuring doesn't tell you much. Also, like he said, "is it being used right?" You rea...
Aragon 2007 AMP with B&K Reference 50 or ?????
I'd try the Stage One first. It's made to go together really. The B&K is not so special sounding of a pre/pro that you really need to rush out and absolutely have one, in my experience...but then I've sold lots of pieces in the past on a retai...
If Thiel, Wilson, Sonus, made active speakers?????
..."NOTHING was even close to the change I heard when I finally went active! The speakers just completely opened up and the definition was better, and the bass, WOW! I didn’t think these speakers could have that much bass!!!"...Sounds like a happy...
B&W Nautilus 801s vs. Wilson Audio Sophia?
everyone own's and likes their own stuff. EQUIPMENT MATCHING is way critical on analytical high end speakers. The more transparent, the more critical. That other gentleman could easily have heard the Sophia's with some bright/cold gear in the syste...
B&W Nautilus 801s vs. Wilson Audio Sophia?
I've sold both Wilson's and B&W's. Personally, I might consider owning 804's in the right application if need be. But I prefer the transparent, dynamic, and higher sensitivity Sophia. Also allow more amp options if applicable.
Active speaker, the future? or another fad?
Gregm, why whould you go through the trouble of dissasembling a speaker, bypassing the crossover for the bass woofers, AND NOT MAKE THE UPPER MID/TWEET DRIVER(S) ACTIVE AS WELL!!!? This doesn't make sense. Yes, I can see the advantage of actively ...
Review: Klipsch RF-7 Speaker
While I have no experience with the newer Klipssch Horns, I have sold/owned/dealtwith the older stuff in the past. Last Klipsch's I owned was the SB1's/2's, driven by tube gear. Let me first say that I like what Horns can do in terms of pressence ...
