Energy Connoisseur C-9 or KEF Q-7 for my Tube Amp
Ok, I say otherwise!...so you can't get them now(ha ha)!Actually, of course they have volume controls, like all active powered sub towers. HOWEVER...AND PAY ATTENTION HERE....just because they have volume adjustment over the bass, DOES NOT MEAN YO...
Review: Klipsch RF-7 Speaker
Barryd, I have heard the RF7's! They are pretty descent, not world beatters throughout! My assesment is pretty right on. I've been doing this for a very long time, have heard most all of it out there, sold most of it, owned a lot of it, and tinker...
Bi wiring or bi amping NHT VT-3s
well you'd have to try. They're already actively amping the bass on their own. At best you're biamping the mids/tweeters. This could potentially give you a bit better dynamic attack in that reigion. Again, you'd have to try. Also, every speaker wi...
Energy Connoisseur C-9 or KEF Q-7 for my Tube Amp
They would work ok for powering the mid's and tweeters alright..still better with more power however, but adequate. On the other hand, YOU MOST DEFINITELY WOULD NEED TO "EQ" YOUR WOOFERS IN THAT SMALL ROOM! No doubt a bout it really! Really, that ...
Energy Connoisseur C-9 or KEF Q-7 for my Tube Amp
Personally, I think traditional floor standers like these are a mistake for you, both becuase of the small room, and because of the passive nature of your speakers, as well as limited power you can provide them. That said, I love the little Jolida...
Your Favorite Top 10 tuners all time
The Creek T43 has to be mentioned, a stellar piece for the money, or better! For $700 new it's unbeatable in my experiences.By the way, I didn't even know there were that many tuners made!!!!...lol
Outlaw Cables. Has anyone tried them?
For $100 or so, you can get stellar results in a copper design with used Harmonic Tech Truth Link's and Acoustic Zen WOW's These are going to be hard to beat at that money. Compares with more expensive Cardas Golden Cross.
Sonus Faber Grand Pianos vs. Thiel 1.6's
Funny how everyone's taste and experience differs. I've sold both the Sonus(current since the Electa Amator vII's were released) and Thiel lines, and understand both lines tend to need completely different gear and set up needs!!!The Thiels have t...
Whats the krell sound?
I don't think it's correct calling Krell Bright! I've heard Krell sound bright in certain system combinations. But that goes with lots of gear combo's. The more analytical you get, the more things can tip "hot" tonally. It's a balancing act indeed...
Whats the krell sound?
I think the Krell sound is typical high end SS. Very analytical, resolved, bass strong, perhaps a bit cool in palate, with a big soundstage. I also think the more expensive the krell, the more body you get to the sound, wiht a sweeter top end. How...
Best Plasma sony,pioneer.Panasonic ?
I like the first two responses! However, I'd like to add one caviat, and that's that picture quality in regards to regular interlaced 230 line resolved satatlite feeds will depend on how your Plasma deals with the signal. When you're dealing with a...
CHeap surrounds that throw large soundstage....
NO no no...the absolute cheepest surrounds that trow a HUGE SOUNDSTAGE, with some semblence of quality, are the Radio Shack Optimus LX5's! For lke $150 on sale/pr pair, These omnipole's are the bargain. However, they do sound best with softer tube...
Three way active xover ?
Kgveteran, I'm curious how you plan to "balance out" each separate amplifier to make up for the differences between the "needs for each driver?!" Won't you be possibly runnging into a scenario where you either have too much tweeter, or too much mi...
Receiver Rotel? and Speakers Maggies? for HT?
All I have to say in Regards to the Rotel gear, is that's it's decent gear. It's not anything super special or anything. I know, I've sold it over the years on a retail level. One of the best pieces they ever made for the money was the 995 100wx5 ...
Does a non-audiophile have to calibrate?
A simple reason to have your sytem either engineered for your room and calibrated properly for your setup is that it will make your system sound tremendously better! You have so many varriables in such a small acoustically challenged space, that w...
