Subwoofer's Front Firing vs. Down Firing
What about dispersion 'efficiency' of a front vs down.It would seem that a down firing is sending output in all directions - to the sides and the rear - and resultant interactions and add'l reflections with the front wall, equipment to the sides. ...
Any polk fans?
I used to own the RTiA3s - nice bookshelf. Good imaging, spacious soundstaging, and sparkle on top that I like for low to mid level listening. I've moved on - but if someone is considering bookshelves and has a limited budget, you can find some de...
How to add a Subwoofer to 2 channel stereo setup?
I would first check your DVD manual to see if there is a configuration setting that downmixes audio tracks to 2.1, with .1 being for the subwoofer output. If a music dvd or cd has no dedicated .1 track (as most normal cds do NOT), then there is no ...
Tweeter height...align with ears?
What does 'height' mean...really?Isn't 'height' just relative to make sure that the tweeters are 'aligned' (pointed) to your ears?Suppose your tweeters are 10 inches higher from an absolute perspective, but angled down to be in alignment to fire d...
HT amp for music- please help
If you do not have an avr, do you have a pre/pro that is the source you need for a multi-channel amp?
HT amp for music- please help
Another 'vote' to keeping the amp you have now and letting the AVR drive the remaining speakers since you said movies are 'secondary'.A good quality AVR will have plenty of oomph to drive a center and surrounds. And you can keep the Muse for the s...
Cables for Rogue audio and B&W
I have B&W CDM1NT bookshelves connected to a MF A5 Int via MIT Shotgun S2s that work quite well together.Tried several different AQs, but they tended to accentuate the treble a bit too much. With the MITs, the highs are tamed a bit better, but...
Inexpensive wall mount speakers
Well - what is your definition of 'reasonable' as far as price? So, just as a guess - I'd say look at the Polk RTiA-1 - well reviewed and a good sonic bargain.just my 2 cents worth.
Integrated Recommendation
I'm very happy with my A5 int amp.Gobs of power, firm grasp on the bass, and has a surprisingly good phono input. If the price is right - the MF would be a very satisfying choice, imo.
MUSICAL FIDELITY - M1 PWR vs Home Theater Receiver
Doesn't the S300i have Home Theater Bypass? If so, you can still have your Integra and the Krell by creating a hybrid setup for movies(using the Integra) and the Krell(for music).
Speaker cables for B&W??
I have B&W CDM1NT bookshelf speakers and run them with MIT Shotgun S2s.I think it is a good synergistic pairing.
From separates to reciever?
Yes.But it coming back full circle.I had a 2-channel system with separate pre and power, even eq, TT, CD and big tower speakers.Family obligations meant less time with the system and my interest waned. Then the family wanted a HT system - so I went...
Four channel intergrated amp?
I'm guessing that what you need to look for are integrated amps with A/B speaker outputs for two zone listening - then check to see if you can play both 'zones' at the same time. One int amp I can think of right away that has A/B speaker outputs is...
Jolida JD9 settings for use with a Denon DL-160?
I tried the LO outputs with the gain switches set to minimum or about 35dB - wasn't an issue with my A5 int amp - plenty of power.I also tried changing the capacitance loading to zero and the impedance to 1kOhm.Still too brittle...sssssibilance as...
seeking Hybrid Integrated Amp recommendations
Several of the Musical Fidelity line of integrated amps have HT "Bypass" - they call it HT Direct. My MF A5 Integrated Amp has an input specifically called "HT Direct". Works great for my combo setup for HT and Music.
