Preamp w/ a budget of $2000 JMC beat me to it. ARC older than 10 years should be great for you. :) I prefer new ARC myself.
2017 California Audio Show in Oakland, CA - Partial Review Hi Michel!Interesting. I didn't even bother to try to get between the speakers at the VS room. I thought it was them, but I heard kind of the same thing repeated. I think the ASC tube traps were sucking the mid range out of the most treated rooms....
Preamp w/ a budget of $2000 Parasound P7. Highly rated even if you don't do multichannel. Used, around $1k or less.
3.1 channel audiophile setup for music and movies Parasound P7Can also do it with most preamps / integrateds that have a Home Theater bypass and 12V trigger output. :) Best,E
REFERENCE 3A De Capo BE Second time I have seen this posted. Sorry, but it most certainly DOES use a crossover. Just not on the woofer. http://www.soundstagehifi.com/index.php/equipment-reviews/703-reference-3a-mm-de-capo-be-loudspeaker...This is similar to the venerable...
Is Classe AUdio no longer??? Not all labor in China is slave or under-paid. The quality of products delivered from China have to do with the quality and care of the labor as well as manufacturer's negotiating fairly, and putting in their own QA people there.
Crossover confusion Not sure if you need DATS though. :) It is for impedance and Thiele-Small parameter measurements. I have one, but I make my own loudspeakers. Otherwise only useful if you are hacking internal crossovers and want to measure parts precisely. Best,E
What does a bad tweeter sound like? I just found the 5A crossover. :) I would leave it alone unless you are already pretty well versed. The 5A uses batter biased caps int he mid and tweeter sections. Pretty funky if you ask me. :)
Most Beautiful Receiver / Integrated - Ever was... ? @bobheinatz Totally with you there. :) I am giving up being fuzzy and mixing and matching for the sake of minimum cables/clutter and maximum system simplicity. Hard to do with a mixed music/movie system, but I'm trying. E
Ayre Codex DAC 5 meters is considered the limit for a USB cable without an active repeater. 3 meters is fine. Best,E
Crossover confusion For a high pass, I would suggest experimenting with the 12 or 18 dB/octave settings. Correctly configuring a crossover is much easier with testing equipment. I use OmniMic, but Room EQ Wizard is free and has an active discussion group you can turn...
B&W 600i speaker sounds weird.. You could try using a vacuum cleaner hose and maybe a crevice tool. If not, remove the cosmetic ring and unscrew the woofer to gain access from behind. Speakers are usually rated as the top of the range of power. If you like what you are hearing ...
Crossover confusion Crossovers are not absolute brick wall devices. they have a roll-off or slope, expressed in db/Octave. A 12dB/octave at 80 Hz would be down 12 dB at 40Hz , and 24 dB at 20 Hz.
Need streaming advice Hi Sboje,As I wrote in my ebay posting, it really depends on the DAC. Over the past few years, DAC jitter reduction has gotten MUCH better as has redbook. I find the Remedy much more useful for older DAC's or those that have a big difference betwe...
Best indoor FM antenna, your experience. Of course, if not already suggested, internet radio allows me to get stations from anywhere in the world. :) Erik |
