Also, ahem, I use my own center channel, the design is free of charge:https://speakermakersjourney.blogspot.com/2016/03/introducing-lm-1c.htmlI encourage every Audiophile to build at least 1 pair of DIY speakers in their hobby lifespan. What Center Channel are you using in your Home Theater? Intelligibility comes from tonal balance and early reflections. Are you using room correction? What kind of flooring do you have? Best,E
Reel to Reel and General Tapes Questions VCR Hi Fi audio was among the very best consumer magnetic audio formats ever, but the magic was a lot more than the VCR heads alone.
Preamp under $2,000 used Well, I am a big fan of Ayre, as well as Parasound. How about a CJ tube though? You might need/like the color.
Can I play Tidal on two devices at the same time? That's typical. At home I kind of get around this because I can stream the same music to multiple devices at the same time. Best,E
Does Plugging Bass Port Affect Pace, Rhythm and Timing? Hi Rwinner,Not really. Actually my S1's came with plugs. Reducing the bass is a good idea when you have speakers not really designed for close boundary locations. It will help even out the bass response. You Best,E
Right Channel Cuts Out intermittently - help! Oh, one more thing to check. You might have bad cables or a bad speaker. Check to see if there's any chance your speaker cables have shorted, with a little bare strand of copper. Try swapping amp channels. If the problem sttays with the same speak...
Right Channel Cuts Out intermittently - help! Parasound makes great gear, but it sounds like you have a bad one. I'd have it checked out. Best,E
A Budget Amp Comparison Hi Snapsc,Nice write up. Few notes. The Halo A23 is Class a for about the first 30 Watts, not 2. Well within the power envelope of most listening. I had 2 of them. Measuring the power input, I think Parasound at some point decided to raise the bia...
Is there a need for cinema. Speaker from theaters Yes, there is. Depending on what you have, you might want to sell to a dedicated theater installer. They are out there. JBL professional drivers are pretty expensive, and so even on the used market they command a pretty good premium. My point is, ...
Converting FLAC Files Wait, they should play fine. The issue is your Mac software. What are you using to play music? If you know anything about shell scripting you should be able to "whip up" a script to use ffmpeg which is a free converter from Unix/Linux land. Best,E
most advanced speaker in a rectangular wooden box? The top of the line Monitor Audio.
Any Way To Damp Ringing Stands Without Adding Weight??? Buck shot works. :) Best,E
did Avid use the same tweeters for both the 102 and 103 models Take your question over to DIYaudio.com - in the Multi-way forum someone will know. :)
Monitor Audio Platnium II ricred,That's how I like them. For me, great speakers can play anything really well. Other speakers I think are AS smooth, but cool is Magico. Older MA silvers I have owned were quite musical, but punchier. Definitely jazz/rock speakers. |
