Dreaming of a DIY 8W Class A amp designed by Nelson Pass?
@mrdecibel How I spend my time each day, whether or not I'm listening to music right now is zero of your business. Z-E-R-O. I suggest if you'd like to see audiogon go another way you contribute your own worthwhile threads.
High end audio - mid range ears
Once you let go of the idea that price = listening satisfaction you and your wallet will be a lot more free to enjoy.

@erik_squires then why start this thread ? There’s a reason I didn’t respond to your apology, and here it is. I won’t be policed by you or anyone else. I started this thread because it looked fun and I like sharing fun projects. I especially like ...

OH, also, have I mentioned to you guys about the six monoblock amps I have in the apartment gathering dust, in addition to the stereo amp I'm listening to right now?

@erik_squires time should not be an issue, as you can build it at your own pace. Really can't have one more project taking up another piece of furniture for six months! :) No, this is one more project I simply can't start. :)

@erik_squires , as an individual who has not found Pass to be your cup of tea, I believe this ACA kit will change your mind << sigh >> I can't tell you guys how sad I am that I actually don't have the time and energy to try this kit.

Electric feedback from water circulation pump
May I suggest a Furman power strip, as well as any other series mode surge suppressor. They filter noise down to around 3 kHz, and can be had inexpensively, around $180. Another approach is to look at how your equipment is connected. Is your pump ...
Time to buy a class D amp?
For me first thing I noticed it took 5 days 24/7 to sound right I have experienced this, and so have others. Weird.
Stereo pre-amp with AV processor?
That's kind of what I'm thinking, only I'm using an integrated that I don't want to change or break. The Anthem receiver (or Marantz) would give me HDMI switching + 3 more channels for movies.
Considering simplifying my system... talk me down (or whatever)
Simplifying is the way to go! Integrated tubes may be in your future. I suggest you try out:RogueAudio Research Luxman’s tube integratedsOn the solid state side:AyreLuxmanBest,Erik

Was the Snell Secret a Wide Baffle?
3. to really hear them you needed to biamp them, vertically preferred over horizontal biamping. OMG yes, I had completely forgotten about this. I think Snell may havesingle-handedly created the entire bi-amping craze.
What is wrong here.. on Audiogon?
The best I think we can achieve is to akin to finding movie reviewers we like, but also to listen to those we don’t. We discover reviewers (amateurs count) who like the same kind of films and have shared pet peeves with us. Knowing WHY a movie rev...
I'm looking to learn about Air Motion Transformer technology
Impedance on both are quite flat. If you need to clutch at the shape of the impedance curve to call it a ribbon, while ignoring the impedance magnitude of the driver, and the transformer a true ribbon needs to be usable, and every other detail of...
