Roon: everything you need to know
I like using the Roon EQ found in the DSP settings area. +1 grannyringIt is divine. I wrote about it here:https://speakermakersjourney.blogspot.com/2020/01/the-snr-1-room-response-and-roon.html
Roon: everything you need to know
Wow you need 128GB or 64 GB of ram to run roon? I never realized it was that memory intense. << cough cough >> bs. The memory requirements are because they expect you to have 100K or more songs, and they like to keep a lot of that buff...
Wilson's Chronosonic XVX loudspeaker over 3/4 of a million US dollars
It is hard to imagine any designer believing that lower speaker impedance is a good thing. Right??

Hi OP,As soon as you finish your course in AC circuit analysis, and filter theory I'll be happy to answer any questions my may have had. Best,E

Guys, I’m sorry, Nelson Pass is too young to be on these lists. Best,E

I am thinking the early days of JM Lab/Focal too would be good. Not necessarily as a fan of the speakers, but living in a French town with old school cabinet making down the road from the driver manufacturing.

Hi George,Please share with us what the difference is between the phase angle of an impedance, and the phase angle of the speaker's output. Thanks,Erik

When solid state-generated watts became cheap, speaker designers started to care less and less about the impedance of the models they were creating. Kind of a corollary of the law of supply and demand. @twoleftears I think this is a good obse...

@gdnrbobSometimes this is legitimate, and in the past, I could see that it was due to poor design tools. Like in the early Genesis era. Damn, some of those crossovers are horrible in terms of impedance, but I can see how they got there due to manu...
Roon: everything you need to know
My 1 tip:Roon exaggerates how much CPU power you need for it. Unless you are upsampling, especially to DSD, you do not need a lot of CPU power for the core.
Revel F328Be's Have Arrived! / Contradicting Specs?
Sounds like they may have cut/paste from an older manual.

min 1.6ohm ain’t for most. I am always suspicious of seeing such low numbers in a dynamic speaker in the bass. I took apart one speaker and saw circuits there deliberately designed to reduce the impedance. It made the speaker "discerning" of ampl...

Kind of on point, kind of not:I really appreciate it when those who recommend something explain their own personal context. What did they try before, what speakers, what music, what do they want out of their system. I am disappointed when users po...

For me it would be Altec or JBL. Would love to be there in the early days of theater sound. :)
Accounting for slight hearing loss
OP: Here is an idea out of left field:https://www.minidsp.com/products/dsp-headphone-amp/ha-dspThis is a headphone amp with built-in DSP. It's a little pricey for a thought experiment, but thought I would share.
