Faint buzz in speakers
Two things to try.  Turn off every other breaker in your home. if that makes the problem go away you may have some device introducing DC. This happens when a device/appliance sucks more on one side of the waveform than another.  Often in very chea...
Coda 07x Preamp latest version vs previous version
I haven't heard the Coda preamps in like decades, so I'm a little curious.  @vinylvalet expressed what I remember. Fans of them, what other preamps could you compare them to in order to help me understand their current appeal? Best,   Erik
High pass filter capacitors
In this range of capacitors, there are a number of excellent brands of caps for far less than $300. Audyn TruCopper, and even some excellent Duelund models like this one. I strongly recommend you practice however using like $2 poly caps first, j...
Class D is just Dandy!
@phusis You make a good argument not to judge amps by their class alone and to be honest to yourself about what you personally like to listen to. It’s your money, not mine, so you should be happy with your spend. I can explain my likes/dislikes w...
Class D is just Dandy!
@smargo - I hate to make broad judgements of amp classes, but you bring up an interesting point.  There are mega buck class A amps I simply do not like the sound of.  I have often wondered if they are an acquired taste, like beer with a strong ho...
My wife weighed in…she wants piano white tower/bookshelf
Fritz will do custom, for a price. :)

@mbrusso What kind of speakers do you normally listen with?
Preamp used in HT bypass - Signal degrade??
Also worth noting, audiophiles tend to over-emphasize ANY change at all.  That is, a tiny change we spend weeks listening for somehow justified a $2,000 speaker cable.  Worth keeping in mind any change you perceive and putting into the grand sche...
Preamp used in HT bypass - Signal degrade??
I can't answer this question in the general sense, but I can in the specific. Anyone can make a bad preamp with a bad HT bypass.  The question is, if your preamp is bad, why are you using it? If it's degrading the HT signal it's probably degradin...
PC or Nuc? running Roon core
I really like the idea of going with tiny, low power (i.e. efficient) computers. I do often worry about the noise a wall wart or PC power supply can introduce.  If you want to do an all-in-one, consider an NUC you can get a linear power supply for...
Wilson Alexia 2 lacking some bass
Forgot to mention the obvious. Reflections act like tone controls. Excess refelctions will make a speaker sound bright. Tame the mid/treble reflections and often bass will emerge like a galleon at low tide.  Don't forget the ceiling, especially be...

Check out hte AM Acoustics room simulator.  You input your dimensions, and it helps you locate your speakers and listening area away from nodes/antinodes.
Current quality of Rune
OK, correct menu items are "Device Setup" then "Resync Delay" That will probably fix most problems.  Under Show Avanced options however you should check the maximums to ensure that Roon doesn't think your DAC can do what it cannot, and also wort...
Current quality of Rune
This static problem may not be related to Roon.  It's often a problem withe the DAC not syncing the right bit rate.  For instance, playing 96/24 and then switching to 44/16.  I've had some luck fixing this a couple of different ways. You can upsam...
room treatment gurus, please
You can, somewhat, overcome some issues with extra absorption where you can. Consider the AM Acoustics room mode simulator to help place listener and speakers.  Include the ceiling and floor in your calculations.  Consider curtains in front of t...
