WBT Spades -- Crimping needed??
I have had the WBT bananas, which use the same attachment process. It’s not required, but it sure does help. However you can get the sleeves cheap at Parts Connexion and a number of < $20 electrician’s crimpers like this one will do the job jus...
room setup suggesion needed
@mijostyn  - I don't think it's an either or situation.  Bass traps help make EQ's more effective.  You can certainly get excellent results in cutting bass nodes with an EQ alone, but traps may help smooth out the bass in more areas on the room th...
Stacking subwoofers
Why vertical arrays instead of horizontal arrays?  The answer is probably in the room mode you are having problems with.  I encourage the use of the AM Acoustics room mode simulator to help understand your room modes as well as opportunities for s...
Shocked. Need Opinions. How muck power do I need?
I think you hit the nail on the head, the issue for many speakers is not watts @ 8 Ohms, but current delivery.  It’s how well an amplifier does in the 3-4 Ohm range that’s important, especially with speakers with dual woofers as they tend to hit a...
Need recommendations on 15ft speaker cables
Mogami.  They make a quad conductor speaker cable which add up to about 10 gauge (it's metric so not exactly).  You can find the 2 conductor at Parts Express and I think the 4 conductor at Markertek.
room setup suggesion needed
Anyone who thinks they know anything about how their speakers sound in a room because of the specs is probably mistaken.  The room changes everything and measurements are key. The ability to limit the bass in main speakers and move subs to ideal ...
Why do Wav and Flac Files Sound Different?
@m2team00  It seems to be a relatively new feature to have album art in WAV files and not sure all converters support it.  See more here.
Why do Wav and Flac Files Sound Different?
It may help to think of an audio file as having 3 parts: Metadata needed to read the byte stream and it’s location in the file Optional metadata about the recording (Composer, artist, year of release, lyrics, album art) The music data byte st...
Why do Wav and Flac Files Sound Different?
wav does not contain metadata while flac does   Um, beg to differ.  You are correct in that the existence of album art or metadata should make no difference to a properly behaving streamer.  Perhaps @audiotroy  you are conflating album art wit...
Why do Wav and Flac Files Sound Different?
@stilljd - The FLAC compression levels are aspirational. Think of them more as setting how much time to spend attempting to compress a song, more than how much they will compress a song. That is, as you increase FLAC compression it spends more an...
Melco E100/N 100 Combination
OP : In that case I think Roon is a bad fit.  MediaMonkey is what I'd recommend.
Is there a cheaper alternative to this:
Kind of.  Butcher Block acoustics makes solid wood bases with threaded inserts.  Those threads can be adjusted and in some cases swapped for IsoAcoustics footers. Check the thread size.
Melco E100/N 100 Combination
OP:  That means that I still need a PC in the system if I were to add Roon, correct? Yes, Roon read and Roon tested mean they will connect to a roon core, somewhere else. And does the PC need to be hard wired?   Ideally yes, but it's more ...
Why do Wav and Flac Files Sound Different?
OP: The metadata and audio are separate. They share a file, but it’s not as if the album cover art is being sent per musical frame. It is in a different location, along with all the credits, so once the music starts to play, it is completely out ...
Why do Wav and Flac Files Sound Different?
The only way you’ll ever convince me there’s a lick of difference between WAV and FLAC is with the jitter measurements. It is _possible_ that the decompression has so much of an effect it overworks limited or pooor buffers and jitter control mech...
