I really wanted to dislike D'Agostino
May I ask all the Coda fanboys to take that discussion to a Coda thread?Thank you.
Poor Fritz
It’s not that I read negative comments about Fritz, it’s that the reviewers go over them with a microscope like no other $5K or less speaker pair.  Not enough is made of how great they are for the money and that it is a one man shop. Best,E
Room treatments
The depth of the texture affects the lowest possible frequency they are effective at. Given 1 kHz is aboutg 1' in length, and 10 kHz a little over an inch, not much usually.

BTW:  I never said Krell was poor.  I didn't like the sound.  Not the same thing.

Strange there are opinions here that Dan era Krell was poor and D’Agostino Dan is great. It’s the same man!I was talking about the sound of the electronics, not his cologne. It is not unreasonable to expect an electronics designer’s tastes, objecti...

Another type of speaker I'm surprised more people didn't mention is the 2.5 way. Tweeter, mid-woofer, woofer. Small, Not very deep, easy to put down.
I need to pick between A and B but I can't hear a difference is the worst type of thread.
I hope you realize that while I do think these threads border on absurd, I'm asking the question tongue in cheek.  There's a whole other forum set up for you to make comments about member's mental state.
Hook Up Wire for Pre and Power Amps
To clarify:  The insulation needs to be greater than the voltage DIFFERENCE, not just the voltage. For example, if the insulation comes near -200V and carries +1000V, then the insulation must be rated at least 1,200 V.

The 845 tubes I have in my amps draw as much as 1000VDC so will require a lower gauge for sure. Correct? Nope.  Gauge is on amps.  Insulation is on voltage. So make sure the gauge is the right size for the current (A), but the insulation on th...

House hunting, give serious considerstion to North Carolina and South carolina Well this is for work so I really don't get to pick. If it were my choice, and I could get Amazon/Instacart and Grubhub, those NC mountain lodges for $200K are amazing.

I love vintage krell. Not analytical at all to my ears. It sounds best with tube preamps. Maybe that's exactly the part I was missing.

I'm sure my impression of CODA amps is now quite dated. If I'm ever in the market I will.

Speakers which always sound good
You know I was actually thinking of Revel and Magico for the same reason.  One thing they share is really great off-axis listening.  They maintain a stable stereo image almost anywhere in front of them. Best,Erik

The DH Labs single strand, pure silver cabling is my reference.  The one catch is that it is unusually brittle because of the single strand issue.  I've broken one or two at the connectors after assembly. https://www.partsconnexion.com/DHLABS-5722...
