Poor Fritz
Hi,Listen, I just want to remind everyone that we've seen this movie before. Same arguments, same obvious logical fallacies, and same protagonist. Best,Erik
a question for those "in the know" re: the future for quality FM
I think finding great radio stations online is the answer.Lots of Jazz and classical stations do a great job.  Using Tidal as well.
I really wanted to dislike D'Agostino
George,I hope you are getting all the help and support you need in these difficult times.Best,Erik
Wireless pickle
What about a rug in between to hide the cable??
KEF 107.1 or B&W 802 S3 Matrix
That kube adds some serious EQ to the speaker. If you are OK with that route, why not try a Schiit Loki??
Any electronic geniuses here?
Yes, assuming an ideal transformer, the measured impedance is related to the impedance at the output by the ratio of winding on the input vs. the output.  http://www.vias.org/matsch_capmag/matsch_caps_magnetics_chap6_04_04.html
Poor Fritz
So, the point of this thread is how inexpensive Fritz speakers are, and how good they are an how others still unfairly compare them to speakers much more expensive. This post which I have partially quoted is the perfect example of the type of revi...

You didn't like the sound of krell because you never heard it with the right preamp. I couldn't even listen to my krell amp with solid state preamps, at least the ones in my price range, but with a tube preamp it sounds great. I have to admit...
Help me understand "the swarm" in the broader audiophile world
My wish for you is to audition and experience the Swarm. Possibly Duke or James Romeyn could arrange it? Or, you're welcome to stop by my house if you're near Indy.     You could then state your objective, apropos thoughts on the Swarm....
Speakers which always sound good
Well, I think Monitor Audio is a good British brand, but not sure about how well it plays in the avg. vs. ideal setting.
Speakers which always sound good
@sokogear Have you listened to KEF's in a variety of environments??
Speakers which always sound good
I just have to say, it is true, I have yet to see a house that has a good room for a stereo. It is frustrating. But then again audiophiles are probably in the 1% category. I can say that I'm firmly in the below 50% category.
Luxman 505uXlI vs Cary SLI-100
Given the modest integrateds I'd say the Klipsch is a very strong speaker, another possible integrated is a Rogue. My concern with the ML with both of these amps is an over softening of the top end due to the speaker impedances ( I assume you mean...
Need more slam! Help!
Of course, you could also move the speakers closer to the wall. :)
Need more slam! Help!
Hi Sammy,That's more midbass.  Here's the thing.  What you could do is:Treat the roomAdd an EQ but just for the woofer.  That lets you keep your mid/treble pure, but play with the mid bass.
