Improving 2- Channel Soundstage
Bass traps are great, but one step at a time. :) I really think you should reach out to GIK Acoustics. You can send htem pictures and drawings and they'll give you excellent advice.Erik
What do audiophiles want from a cable?
Very expensive and difficult to use tone controlsImaging enhancement (see above)Endless merry go roundfinancial sense of ownership and accomplishmentThe chance to enhance our own discernment of equipment instead of music.Social sense of belonging....
Anyone with Benchmark ABH2?
I have not heard them, but boy those heat sinks remind me of the Hafler modules we used to buy ages ago. :) Best,Erik
Sanders Magetch Amp
I haver not heard the Magtech, but I'd be surprised if it was lean in the bass at all. The ESL amp I did hear however sounded cool, as opposed to lean. It didn't lack bass so much as sounding analytical.  Not harsh, but close to the older ARC amps...
Voltage regulator in the power chain
Jim, That's how I did it with my 2 Furman units.  The first was the voltage regulator, and the power conditioners plugged into that, however the Furman has 5V granularity. Your unit has 15V so it's not usually going to be helping you, as much as j...
Reliabilty, Keeping Equipment Powered on or off?
There’s no one right answer anymore. The biggest issue with on/off cycles was the initial current surge that goes through the transformer and power supply capacitors. They are much better now than 40 years ago, and many amp makers have added soft-...
Improving 2- Channel Soundstage
Properly set up electrostatics throw a huge sound field. There's no reason at all you should be forced to supplement them with an extra speaker. The advice is still solid, but you should need less of it to the sides and above/below. Behind however...
No can understand....
Disconnect your L and R speakers and listen. How does it sound to you? You may actually have a bad amp or a bad speaker. Best,Erik

Hi,There’s three things to tryElectronicsAcoustically Speaker adjustment. I think acoustics and speaker placement is where you should go first. I find that if your imaging is lacking you need to add acoustic damping in that dimension. For instance...
Do equipment stands have an impact on electronics?
agear,I think the state of our socialized knowledge is something like this:There are plausible reasons why vibration reduction could work in solid state gear. A) Microphonics in the components, or B) You are actually hearing the preamp/DAC, etc. m...
Voltage regulator in the power chain
I saw a review on that voltage regulator. It's fine, but really coarse. If you don't need it, I'd take it out of the system. I'm a little surprised you don't also have mechanical hum from it. :) It seems to have only 3 states: Boost 15V, buck 15V,...
Explain to me dsd
@kalali I think most people use a variety of ways to get music. The biggest reason for buying in addition to subscribing, which I do, is to have the highest quality possible. Most streaming services provide heavy compression. Tidal's best resoluti...
Sub woofer
GIK Acoustics has very good value, and give great advice. I'd talk to them, they have a request page you can upload photographs of your space to and drawings and they will help you within your budget. Best,Erik
Sub woofer
How about room acoustics? :) That's really the bigger issue. If buying new, I'd buy a Hsu sub for $1k and spend the remaining $1k on room acoustics.
Doubling a Set of Speaker Cables
So make yourselves happy, but it's quite possible that doubling speaker cables is also doubling cable capacitance, and I'm not sure about inductance. Anyone who wants to measure this realatively cheaply may wish to acquire a Dayton DATS V2. Fairly...
