can the Behringer have multiple settings?
64 is the number.
AC captive cords???
Tplavas...It's too bad when we can't laugh at ourselves!
AC captive cords???
Carefully wrap the cord with twenty dollar bills. Be sure to use cryo-treated scotch tape to hold them in place. For even better results, try fifty dollar bills.
Is a good Cermic Cartridge an Oxymoron?
I am sure that every single person who has played LPs has destroyed at least one stylus in this way :-( It was my luck to do it to a MC cartridge with non-replaceable stylus.Ain't digital great!
Behringer DEQ2496 vs. DSP8024 as DAC
The DEQ2496 DAC is supposed to be better...that's why they updated the unit. If you want even better performance check out the RAM mods to the DEQ2496.
Anyone ever tried using a power amp to make 120VAC
Many years ago there was a modification to the Dyna Kit (yes, that long ago) tube amp to do this.
Why doesn't Musical Fidelity offer balanced output
Some folks "must" have a Rolex watch, although a Timex keeps better time.
Initial impressions of Behringer DSP8024
I actually had an order in for a DSP8024, but I changed it for a DEQ2496 which is a similar newer model. I have had great results with the DEQ2496, and I now have three of them to take care of five channels. Room EQ is the way to go, and Behringer...
Analog vs. CDP: A fair comparison?
Zaikesman...You are correct in that program material which is recorded on vinyl at a uniformly loud level, ( not typical of classical) but not so loud as to cause mistracking, yields excellent sound, without intrusive surface noise. Of course this...
Can tube preamps be as 'detailed' sounding as ss?
Atmasphere...But, if a tramsistor power amplifier has well designed clip limiting, it will, when overdriven, produce a waveform that looks just like a tube amplifier.
Analog vs. CDP: A fair comparison?
Zaikesman...I used to think my LP equipment was OK until I got lectured by Albert and his crew! It, and other systems I have heard, have never delivered the quality of sound that vinyl fans describe, and so, for me, digital is better.
Analog vs. CDP: A fair comparison?
It all depends on what is important to you. If absence of surface noise, idiot-proof operation/maintenance, multichannel potential, and low cost are important you should stay with digital. On the other hand there are a subset of audiophiles who ha...
Review: Spread Spectrum Technologies Trinaural Processor Surround Pre
Zaikesman...My Left and Right speakers are about 15 feet apart. This is dictated by the room which has two french doors in the wall, leaving three pieces of wall. The subwoofer enclosures are embedded in the wall behind each Maggie. The center is n...
Review: Spread Spectrum Technologies Trinaural Processor Surround Pre
The benefits of the Trinaural are obviously greatest for a system which has the speakers spaced far apart, and this is not always necessary in a large room. I can recommend it for any system configured for multichannel, regardless of room size. Fo...
Violin, Viola,Cello background noise
I don't think it is dither. Dither is only toggling of the least significant bit, which, with normal gain, is not audible, and would be a pure tone, not a "shushing" sound.Even with a digital master recording some analog amplification of the micro...
