Tyler and Acoustic Zen reviews in TAS
First off, as to Spendor... I love Tyler speakers, but actually I think Spendors tend to appeal to many of the same qualities Tyler owners crave. I was *very* impressed with the Spendors I heard earlier this year. If Sallie prefers the 8se, I can ...
Advice about warm, gentle speakers...
I have heard most of the speaker brands you are looking at and I think you are on the right track... I have specifically heard both speakers from Vienna and SF on a Denon 3805 and I had very different results... The SF Grand Piano Homes (the model...
Tyler Acoustics Linbrook/Super Mini Monitors
Newbee is correct on the models (I own the 2 piece version of the original Linbrook System "I", but have heard the *Model* System 2 as well).Just for clarification on the Sensible Sound review, that actually was the Linbrook Signature Monitor that...
Tyler Acoustics Linbrook/Super Mini Monitors
I think that sometimes people can get *over-emotional* about their speakers... as we have seen in a recent thread. If you want my opinion on the sound of Tylers, feel free to check out my review on AudioAsylum.com under the Linbrook Signature Syst...
Acoustic Zen Adagio, How Good Are They?
I just came from an extended audition with them in a well-insulated medium sized room and they are definitely the real deal.On the first CD soundtrack, things started off mixed (although generally excellent) with most of the "O" Cirque du Soleil s...
Has anyone auditioned the BeoLab 5 speakers?
While I am only about 95% certain this is the same model number as the speakers my brother-in-law and I heard in Vegas, I am pretty sure by the price tag that it was... We heard them in a smallish, but well insulated demo room, and I would say the...
Ref. 3a , GMA & Tyler compare ?
First off, the GMAs are not "bright" sounding speakers IMO. They are *more* bright than the Linbrooks, however. The Linbrooks are not "warm tubey sounding" speakers either. They are warmish but they are rare in the way that they don't mask the deta...
Ref. 3a , GMA & Tyler compare ?
I can't comment on the 3A as I have not heard that one (but I do hear a lot of good things about it)...As for the Tylers and GMAs, I have heard both of these, and have owned the Signature Monitors (technically I still do, as they are the top half ...
Guidance for speaker upgrade
I think you will be in for a real treat when you audition the Spendor 3/1Ps... I found their sound quite addictive and almost bought a pair not too long ago for my office system.I'll second Bignerd100's Tyler and GMA recommendations as well. I own...
Von Schweikert VR-4 Gen III & Tyler Linbrook Sig's
While as a Tyler Linbrook Signature System (2 piece in my case) owner, my comments will certainly be considered biased... I would have to say in the case of the VR-4 vs. the Linbrook System, the Tylers would easily be my choice... I actually have ...
will the VAC 30/30 sound ok with VSA DB-99's
That combo should sound great together. Love those DB99s, BTW.---Dave
Who makes speakers with relaxed high freq.?
Seems like Newbee and I have similar tastes... Tyler and Spendor were the first two that came to mind in that order. I own and recommend the Tylers, but I also loved the Spendor line when I heard them recently.---Dave
Tweeters, Scanspeak or Seas
Boa2 said it perfectly. I own Tylers that use both, and they are of equal quality, just different IMO. The Scanspeak is a bit more detailed, and the SEAS a bit more natural. I personally have a preference for the Revelator, but my main Tyler speak...
Tyler Linbrooks to big for a 12 x12 room?
My Linbrook System Is are in a 14X16 room with two openings (one to a hallway on one side behind the left speaker and the other to a small room on the other side behind the other speaker), and I would say they are large for *my* room (even though ...
Tyler Signature System versus Merlin VSM-MM
Cruz123, I did not ask the owner the dimensions of the room, so I can only give an estimate... but it looked to be about 12 X 14 or so with standard ceilings (8 feet approximately).---Dave
