Tyler/Salk sensible alternatives to Gallos? The Linbrook Signature System would be an excellent alternative to Gallo (so would the Salks, IMO). Both are better overall choices to my ears. The Gallos do offer a superb soundstage that few match, however.---Dave
Dali Helicon 800. What components match with it? For full disclosure I do not own the Helicon 800s. I did hear them at great length in a custom installer's showroom on McIntosh gear and the results were quite impressive. They sounded good in a small to medium sized room, as and even better in a ...
Dali Helicon 800. What components match with it? Whoops... that should have read "Mcintosh"... not the Mac computers. ;-)Doh!Sorry,---Dave
Dali Helicon 800. What components match with it? I have always liked the sound of the 800s powered by Macintosh gear. Very good match there, IMO.---Dave
Need list of 92db speakers and above. You may want to look into the Tyler Acoustics Pro Dynamics line. These are not single driver, but the Eminence drivers used in them are super-high efficiency (about 101-102dbs). The mid-line PD-20s reach about 42hz on the low end (20K on top) and ...
Best speaker that you dont need a sub under 1.5k I don't know about "best," but a good floorstander speaker I have heard that meets your criteria brand new is the Tyler Acoustics Freedom F-3 at $1450/pr. (gets down to 35hz)... A couple used floorstanders are the Sonus Faber Grand Piano Home (thi...
Linbrook Sig Owners - In Room Bass Extension? If you are indeed talking about the Linbrook Signature System, then the answer is a resounding "yes" at least in my home.---Dave
Klipsch KLF-20 vs. Tyler Talyo 7U? A 50 watt integrated tube amp will drive the 7Us just fine. That said, Tyler speakers in general are very revealing, so while a 50 watt integrated will drive them fine, the model of that 50 watter will most likely make a difference as to getting t...
Can Manley's Stingray power VonSchweikert vr4 jrs? GMA speakers tend to sound good with the Stingray IMO. I have heard a couple of their models using the Manley with excellent results.---Dave
Coincident Super Eclipse III vs. Tyler Sig System? I can't comment on the Coincidents as I have never heard them (although I am sure they are excellent speakers). The Tylers I own (in two piece form), and based on your speaker preferences and room size I can easily recommend them to you. They have ...
Merlin VSM-mm's a good value at $3000 used? Those Merlins are superb speakers and I believe the answer to your question is "yes."---Dave

Acoustic Zen Adagio, How Good Are They? It will be interesting to hear your experience Dsalvo55 when you hear the Adagios versus the SRs side by side... I did that when I auditioned the Adagios, and they easily were my choice of the two (on Cary solid state gear at least). For some reas...
Review on the Tyler Acoustics Lynbrook Signature's Good review. I agree with the comments on the Linbrook System (I own it as well). The 200 hours seems crazy, but I experienced the same thing... go figure. The speakers you auditioned were also on my list, except I auditioned the VR4SR and DB99 as...
Wher did the DB99 go ? The DB99 was a fabulous model, and in my mind will never be replaced by the VR4SR. Too bad VS had to discontinue it, as I thought it offered the first taste of what some of the more pricey VS models sounded like, for much more "sane" money. Now yo... |
