Does the Eminent Technology 2.5 arm work well with the Transcriptors Reference turntable?
@rooze Ignore mijo - he doesn’t know what he is talking about. The Debut is a very stable hanging suspension - when I met Dan Agostino in the 80’s his reference front end was Basis Debut with Air Tangent linear tracker driving tri-amped Apogees...

@ledoux1238  Been there, done that, It will sound a lot better again if you use 3 feet only.

@alexv  Actually, getting it rebuilt by Anamighty Sound would be a great option for you.

Spotted A JVC X1 MK2 Cartridge Seem To Be Well Regarded
They are ok - but I would not buy one ( I own one ) since there are no stylus replacements available any more. Unless it is brand new ( unused ) then it is likely to have had stylus wear. Get a new Grado, Nagaoka or Soundsmith if you want a MM/MI...
What is the “World’s Best Cartridge”?
@rauliruegas  You have now posted thousands of words on this thread over the past month but have still not answered the OP's question. Did you understand the original question.
Widow here: I have a REGA-related question
@kkirk001  It would appear that if the power supplies have the marking "PS1" it should be ok to use with the Fono from your description. Perhaps he had extra's because one may have an issue. I would suggest you sell both the PS1's with the Phono....
Direct Drive
DD TTs using three phase motors. The new Technics, the SAT, VPI. I'm not sure about the NVS and the Monarch, but would be surprised if they weren't three phase, given their quality. Then of course there is the motor I build and install into my K3...
Dynavector Cartridge Cabling
@jorgjean  There is the SME pin configuration standard on the tonearm bayonet fitting - in other words the tonearm end of the cartridge leads. I cant recall any tonearms other than the EMT ( uses a diamond pin layout )that are not to SME pin lay...
Direct Drive
The platter will slow down and a belt, thread, tape or rim drive, would slingshot the paltter up to momentary over speed once the high stylus drag reduces. Thats funny. My TT platter is 26kg, that you would think that immediately after Horowit...
Direct Drive
@richardkrebs  better DD TTs use a 3 phase motor, Can you provide a list of any DD TT's that use a 3 phase motor.
Direct Drive
Actually its not cogging. The essence of the main difficulties with DD is derived from the fact that a direct drive requires a motor to run at 33rpm - the gearing is 1 to 1. In the old days ( 70's ) it was very difficult to control motors accurat...
Dynavector Cartridge Cabling
Neither is wrong - there are no standards. If you look at an Ortofon 2M for example, the pins are different again from all of your cartridges +ve pins on one side, -ve pins on the other. Denon 103 different again from any of the above mentioned....
Garrard 401 record clamp or weight?
the Garrard 301-401 are some of the few tables with a dished plater so the weight or clamp works very well, better then flat platers. Actually thats not correct. The 301 platters are concave ( dished ). The 401 platters are flat. There may b...
Yamaha GT 2000 with 40 pound copper platter.
The GT2000/2000L/2000X all used the same motor. The GT2000X has a larger bearing & spindle - if you look at the GT2000X the truncated pyramid below the spindle is steel. On the GT2000 & 2000L the truncated pyramid below the spindle is bra...
