Integrated Amp recommendation for $300 that will balance well with Vandersteen and NAD
The NAD C317 is the best integrated that NAD has ever made up until that point. You should be able to pick one up for a few hundred bucks. My son uses mine (thankfully) so i know it's in good hands. A true classic.
Accuphase E560/600 Users: what's your speakers?
Yes, I understand you're not looking for speaker recommendations. I probably confused you with my post. I hope you get the information you're looking for.
Accuphase E560/600 Users: what's your speakers?
This isn't going to help you much but I thought I'd give you a laugh. You know how everyone tells you to buy speakers first, which I did years ago with a pair of Harbeth C7ES3's. About three weeks ago I picked up a slightly used demo E600 from my ...
Which integrated amp would you pick?
Number one is love the amp. Number two is re-sale value. Number three is build quality.
Which integrated amp would you pick?
NAD C317, Rogue Cronus Magnum, Hegel H200 and now the Accuphase E-600. All great integrated amplifiers which I'm thankful to have owned, I hope the Accuphase is the last I ever buy.
Does the heat an amp puts out have any effect on the sound quality ?
So for the sake of Almarg's question of the model amp, we can use mine. I have a Accuphase E-600 Class A with Harbeth C7ES3 speakers. Overkill yes, but a path to upgrades for an integrated lover. I don't find the Accuphase to run overly hot. I bel...
The Tragically Hip
I just returned from a mini vacation in the Thousand Islands and they played their last show in Kingston, Ontario the other night. The news up there had extensive coverage of the show and it looked like it was spectacular. Even the Prime Minister ...
McIntosh
Don't ever let anyone make you feel as though McIntosh is inferior to anything else because it's not. I would also disregard any posts that claim there's better gear for less money. Some of the best music I've ever listened too was through Mac gear.
Accuphase DA-40
And as of this past Thursday, I just purchased the E-600 (it was a demo so I got a deal) so I'd be curious to know about the DAC. I've read a couple of good reviews.
Subwoofers.... one 10" or two 8"?
Two is almost always better than one but I{'m not so sure that rings true with 8". It depends on the room.
Should I buy a Class A Amp.
This is funny. I haven't been on Agon in quite some time but stopped by here because I'm buying an Accuphase E-600 next week. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I'd make it to class A but I'm going for it. I'm looking forward to this next...
Rogue Cronus Magnum (hum/noise)
I owned a Cronus Magnum for three years and had no hum. I have a dedicated circuit which I'm sure helped. I really liked that amp a lot.
Hegel Design Flaw?
I own a Hegel H200 which I love. That being said, I don't doubt your experience one bit and I'm baffled why any of the Audiogon members would question you. I've read interviews with the designer and he's a total narcissist.
Hegel H300
So who has compared the H200 and H300? I don't care about what you've read. I thought the H200 sounded better than the Modwright. I haven't heard the H300, but have heard there's not much of a difference between the 200 and 300.
Liquid Midrange' - strong side of which tube amps?
I've heard the Octave and have to agree with you. Since I'm not in the market, im hoping to find a deal on a used Octave.
