I should have never .... I've owned the boxy Harbeth C7ES3's for years now and am waiting for my new Super HL 5 Plus's in Tiger Ebony to arrive from across the pond (distributor was out of Tiger Ebony). I totally get the boxy comment. I got my ass handed to me on this web...
Need recommendation for a CD player I spent most of one evening researching your question and if it were me, I'd choose the Parasound CD1 if I could find one. (they've been discontinued). All my CD's are redbook and I love CD's and always will.
Pass Labs INT 60 VS. Primaluna Dialogue Premium HP VS. Arcam A49 The best comparison to the Prima Luna is the INT 30. I'm an ex tube freak who finds class A to be a bit sweeter if paired correctly. My Accuphase E600 is noticeably sweeter than any tube amp I've heard though my Harbeth's.
What do you think of soundbars compared to speakers? For me a sound bar is perfect but I don't watch action adventure films so a 7.1 system is a waste of money. TV and movies to me are brain dead activities that don’t require a lot of money invested to be satisfied.
Volume Increase of decrease as system improves Mine volume has gone way down. I used too have a system that had to be turned up to bring out the smallest detail. Now my background (noise floor) is completely silent and I can hear more detail than ever at low volumes. I'm thankful this is the d...
cd player rec Redbook cd reproduction on todays new players is light years ahead of even the best in class from 1991. mb1audio had some good suggestions.
Need recommendation for a CD player Does anyone know how much Dan would charge to ModWright a Marantz SA8005?
Any Rotel love around here? Looking to power my Sonus Faber Olympica 3 I held onto a RCD-1570 just in case. I'm not a fan of the slot loader but it works. Other than that, garbagio for the past 8 years.
The $3,600 gamble For the wall behind your head some of the best treatments are books if you have bookshelves or Oriental rugs. I was just picking up one of my oriental's from my local dealer (they cleaned it) and they told me a lot of their business comes from aud...
Any Rotel love around here? Looking to power my Sonus Faber Olympica 3 About 8 years ago I had brand new top of the line amp and preamp from Rotel and it was the low point of my 35 years in audio. When jafant says to buy the older stuff, he means pretty old. And I paired it with B&W speakers and it was horrible. ...
Harberth hifi speaker and studio monitor (30.1 adn 40.1) You should post this on the Harbeth forum. I've never heard of a regular user interested in a studio monitor. Why would you even consider this approach? I'm not trying to be a jerk, I have no idea.
Dynaudio C1 compared to Harbeth Super HL5 plus? Both great speakers. I haven't heard the C1 in quite some time. I enjoyed them but recall they sounded best when played a bit louder than I like. I'm about to order the SHL5 Plus in Tiger Ebony as a Thanksgiving present to myself. With the right a...
A recent thread about speaker/floor isolation As far as I see it, falcon quest decoupled and oregonpapa coupled.
Search for miracle integrated My apologies to melbguy. Accuphase has never advertised much in the U.S. I had an opportunity to purchase a demo E-600 and jumped on it after hearing it a few times. My close friend owns the only high end hi fi shop in the city I live in. He carri...
Search for miracle integrated "Oh that’s right, audio is not subjective, so since you are sarcastically implying Accuphase is superior, you must be right, lol!"i'm not, I just don't believe you've heard it with such a bold statement. |
