VPI JMW-9 "signature" tonearm???
Hold on to your hat's fellow 'goners I've taken the plunge to upgrade to the Scoutmaster and the JMW9 Signature arm. Table went back to VPI today so I've got about 4 weeks until the new and improved version is back in my system.
VPI JMW-9 "signature" tonearm???
Correction to my above post, looks like the signature version of the JMW 9 is a significant upgrade.Straight from the VPI webpage...New JMW-9 Signature tonearm – The Signature version of the JMW-9 features a stainless steel bearing assembly, fine ...
Should I or not
My room is simillar in dimension, I tried long wall and could never get things to integrate well. I quickly went back to short wall set up. I'm sure I suffer a bit in stage width but it is a much better sound overall.Try it out though, you've got ...
Recent reviews on Cyberlight IC's
Since when does Stereophile measure cables? I found it odd to see JA's measurements in the cable review.
Whick system is better for 70K retail?
Delancy, yes you are correct. I intended to state that I would swap the Duo's for the Kharma 3.2's.
Whick system is better for 70K retail?
Ok I'll bite...I'd lean towards system number one, BUT, I would go with the M1.2 or M2.2 and put the extra 10k into the Kharma sub. Factor in a few more bucks to wire it with Kubala Sosna cables and you've got a system to retire with. By the way I...
Best Bike to ride before a good listening session
Goheelz, I agree with you on the Merlin MTB hardtails as being just about the best there is. Have not seen or ridden a Seven though and thats where Rob Vandermark went (started up I think) after he left Merlin.Boa2, agreed on the Discovery team as...
Great concert
Great news, I am going to see him Friday night. Can't wait. Did he do any of the old Dire Straits stuff?
Best Bike to ride before a good listening session
Anyone else watching the Tour think its a little early for Lance to be in Yellow? Seems out of character for him to take it so early, he typically waits until everyone is spent then makes his run. I don't know, just would make me less nervous to s...
VPI JMW-9 "signature" tonearm???
I called VPI on this about 4-5 weeks ago and they said they were waiting on the cable from Nordost...guess it has arrived. From what I know so far, the Valhalla wire is the only difference. I believe its a $300 upgrade, check VPI's website to be su...

Can a boron cantilever bend?
boron is a very light and stiff material, used as a stylus it is certainly within reason for it to break if used or cleaned in a rough manner. i'd like to think coming from the factory the quality control folks would catch something like this. is ...
Guitar Solos
I'm surprised there are only a few SRV mentions. Probably because most already know of him is my guess. Regardless, I think "Lenny" is one of his greatest.

SVS vs. Velodyne?
Which SVS model are you looking at? A friend of mine runs two of the SVS passive "garbage can" looking ones with Polk RT800s (pretty sure thats the model) and a Denon 3803 in a large finished basement. Probably a similar set up to yours eh? My opi...
