Lehmann Black Cube Se with the VPI Scoutmaster Sdcampbell, the Black Cube SE is the only phono stage I have used in my system. I have heard many other phono stages, but not in my own system. So my comments should have been prefaced with that little back ground info. You may be correct in your ...
Lehmann Black Cube Se with the VPI Scoutmaster I am running a Scoutmaster (w/JMW 9 Signature arm) with a Black Cube SE right now. My cartridge is a Dynavector Karat. Its a very low output MC (0.23mV). I ran a high output Grado MM and the Dynavector line all the up to my current Karat. I can he...
What's involved in lubricating a VPI Scoutmaster ? search for this in the forum archives. it came up about a month ago and was covered pretty well.
Richard Gray's 400 Pro = Emperor's New Clothes?? I used to run a RGPC 400 mkII on several of my components. I now have them...gasp...plugged straight into the wall sockets. They are on a 20A dedicated circuit though. Sounds great, perhaps even better than before. I compared the 400 to a Shunyata...
What is your comfort level? I would say that I have a comfort level for component costs. I could afford to spend more, but I choose not too because of my own self imposed limits...my comfort level. I am noticing that my limits are slowly increasing though. I do not have cate...
VPI JMW-9 Signature Damping Levels? I had to put in what seemed like a lot (to me anyway) of oil in the well before it even made contact with the arm. Certainly more than 5 drops. I also expected a more substantial increase in arm damping.I'm curious to hear from other users.
VPI periphery record ring for VPI Scoutmaster Mlkiz, I've had the new JMW9 Signature arm now for nearly two months. It's a fairly significant sonic upgrade from the standard JMW 9. It's added adjustment features are the cherry on top.
ANTI-CABLES by Paul Speltz: Anyone Using Them? Speltz now has an XLR IC!? Now thats interesting and something I may have to try. Those using the ICs, how are they constructed? I'm assuming they use the same wire and minimalist construction as the speaker cables. Also, how would you describe th...
ANTI-CABLES by Paul Speltz: Anyone Using Them? I used an 8 foot pair with jumpers for a couple months and thought they were really good. It was not until I had a chance to listen to some much better, and more expensive, cables that I was able to identify their shortcomings (less sparkle and ai...
Johnny Cash cd's Although they are not live recordings (they are acoustic actually) I would recommend the entire American series. Sonically excellent material and as Krell man says above, tells his story through the songs he chose to cover.
DarTZeel Preamp actually Fmpnd major automobile oems send cars out all the time to car magazines with a list of qualifiers (and most of the time instructions) on certain aspects of the car that can not be commented in the review due to various reasons. to be fair...
DarTZeel Preamp nealhood, your comparison of dartzeel amps to honda automobiles has no basis here and is essentially irrelevant. you reference the physical state of a car to the sound performance of the amp!? as mike states above, its a very well known fact that ...
To anyone who has TT The Audi TT is a great car, get the coupe though it sounds better.
I'm FINALLY finished: new 2-channel system i dropped HT about 3 years ago and have not looked back since. the dts neo32.6 sound formats and pixel counts drove me insane changing over every 4 months. i'm much happier now worrying about vta, vtf and cleaning fluids for vinyl :)
