Low gain preamp options @cat_doorman,This is the preamp that includes all the desired features that you list in your post. btw, I have speakers that have efficiency >2.6%. So i understand the need for controlling gain i.e. Voltage in audio components. It is very impor...

Dedicated power @mofojo: Run a 10/awg BX/MC cable solid core conductors from the breaker panel to a metal receptacle box. The metal sheathing on the BX/MC cable absorbs the (EF)) electric fields emitted by the wires and shunts it to ground. Now from panel to plu...

change amps or speakers @ majorc I would go with the quicksilver line stage it has 18 dB of gain to drive your amps to a full 60 watt output. I use a schiit freya+ preamp to drive my amps. good luck. :-)

Make sure both ends are very tight which is more important to sound quality then any connector will be.
Adding a sub woofer? @ ieales, Well said.
Benefit of shielded ac wire? Any downside? @ptss: Run a 10/awg BX- cable solid core conductor from the breaker panel to a metal receptacle box. The metal sheathing on the BX-cable absorbs the (EF)) electric fields emitted by the wires and shunts it to ground. Now from panel to plug is shie... |
