How much overhang is ok between a speaker base and the stand top plate?
@hilde45, The size of the top plate overhang will not effect the sound. But the height of the stand will. A top plate of 7''x7'' is fine.  :-)
Aegir upgrade to Pass...maybe
@ daledeee1, Maybe buy another Aegir and run mono blocks. I run two on my jbl 4435 monitors sounds great, plenty of power. The pass labsXA25 is a great amp. But two Aegir is far less money. If have the money, go for the pass XA25. You will love it...

Wall mounting on studs
@ galpi, Like ericsch said, also install rubber in between new and old lumber to reduce vibrations.:-)
Speakers hung from ceiling on aircraft cable.
Newton, Sounds like a biblical story that apple. I read some where some one mess the whole world up by eating a apple. Just saying. :-)
Speakers hung from ceiling on aircraft cable.
If you have the right speakers yes. Mine are hanging fine. 15 year's now. There also inverted with springs, between the cables. Then you build soffits around the monitors.  There is a very good reason why very hi end recording studios (mount) ther...
Woofer pumping possibly due to tube amp when playing vinyl
@ last_lemming, I have a funny question, do you have a fireplace in that room where the woofer pumping is going on. Because a fireplace can cause low resonant frequencies in a room. The flue pipe is the culprit. I hope you have good luck with the ...

@ last_lemming, What, atmasphere said yes!. Plus component three the (room.) As you said, the same equipment and rack in another room doesn't cause pumping.  :-)
Woofer pumping possibly due to tube amp when playing vinyl
@ last_lemming, Turn off the oven/range breaker at the panel.  Then play the audio rig. To see if you still have woofer pumping. Mike :-)

Woofer pumping possibly due to tube amp when playing vinyl
@ last_lemming, I agree the clamp is not the solution. But i did not say it was. That was post #3 that said it was the (clamp.) I said the subsonic filter might help. I do not know if a perimeter ring will work. I do hope you find a solution. Mike...
Woofer pumping possibly due to tube amp when playing vinyl
@ last_lemming, I concur, with mijostyn. It is what i said and strereo5 said in the first two posts. (Subsonic filter.) My turntable has a air platter it sucks the record flat to the platter like a pancake no warps. And i have a (clamp.) With out ...
seeking ‘HORN’ ideas apart from Klipshc Lascalla
@ ozzy62, Well said!. And what the poster said, about the JBL M2s is spot on. My jbl 4435 monitors do not  "DISTORT"  the sound. In fact they have the cleanest bass of any speakers that i have heard.! They reproduce cymbals like live music. IMHO  :-)
Ground loop feedback - cable wire issue
@ atmasphere, My emotiva xpa 1 gen-2 amp is a two pin ac cord. That is four years old. Do you think, i will have a problem. Mike. :-)

@ last_lemming, Take a look at a walker audio crystal reference record clamp. It is a great clamp. :-)
