Audio research ref 160M vs ref 250SE @biketony How are the 160Ms working out in your system? Did you ever clarify if BIF was correct in the circuit protection from tube arcs? Thanks, Dana
Bill Evans Riverside Recordings Box Set is FINALLY IN STOCK!! @rich121 I would talk to the folks at Acoustic Sounds. I have played all the discs a couple times now and none of them have noise. They are all just as quiet as my MoFi UD1S albums. The QC of today's world of pressing has been a let down. No...
Phono Stage Upgrade There is a non SE REF 3 on audio mart for $8600. It's been there a while. I sold one about 1.5 years ago for $7500. All the dealers advertise them at inflated prices used around $11000. $8000 ish seems to be a fair and reasonable price. If ha...
Bill Evans Riverside Recordings Box Set is FINALLY IN STOCK!! I have listened to half....they have all sounded fabulous and very quiet. The pressing quality is quite excellent. My favorite at this point is Shelly's Manne-Hole.
Bill Evans Riverside Recordings Box Set is FINALLY IN STOCK!! I was traveling for work and FedEx did not acknowledge my note to leave with my neighbor so attempt #3 is tomorrow lol. I don’t have any other audiophile pressings so will only be comparing to a couple of the albums $30 recent pressings. Do you ha...
Node2i to Aurender N100SC…WoW! @jl1ny - Yes, the DAC8 is my only DAC now so I was comparing the N10 to the Node 2i both delivering the signal with the same Cardas Clear Coax. I reactivated my account with Qobuz for this as I have been using Amazon with my Node2i. With the Nod...
Node2i to Aurender N100SC…WoW! I will first of all say that vinyl is my preferred source. I love my analog setup and always prefer the sound over streaming. Sometimes it is close and typically it is significantly better Right after ordering the open-box N100SC, there was an ...
Node2i to Aurender N100SC…WoW! @jl1ny I am almost in your same shoes and have also been chatting with @ghdprentice about this upgrade I was curious and searched this Aurender model and found this post I have the ARC DAC8 being fed by a Node 2i. I got an open box N100SC tonigh...
Which would you choose for good sounding tube preamp for an audiophile new to tubes. I would look for an Audio Research LS17 SE. $1500 will likely never get one but maybe under $2000. That would be a nice intro to ARC that could keep you going for many years.
DAC comparison Interesting timing for me as I upgraded my Gungnir a few weeks ago to the original Yggdrasil. I have all ARC gear otherwise and then a few weeks later a matching silver DAC 8 pops up for sale. I couldn't resist and got it for the aesthetics. I ...
Best speakers for a small room This seems like a good buy if the OP is back or anyone else is looking. If you aren't familiar with Echo they sell everything a very competitive prices so things don't typically last long if they are a popular item https://echohifi.com/details/1...
Bought an Audio Research Amp I had the same experiences going from nonARC solid state to ARC tubes. Don't get caught up in the power ratings either. When I got the Classic 120 mono blocks I also had a Parasound HCA 2200ii. I fought hard to stay solid state and picked up a ...
Bought an Audio Research Amp @rfnoise I have been in love with ARC for abut 4.5 years now. I took a long journey from an LS3B with the Classic 120 mono blocks and a PH5 phono stage to get to the previous generation of their REF lineup. I tried out several different line sta...
Eric Clapton Unplugged MoFi UD1S thoughts This is a classic case of how I get a little too excited over highly anticipated results. I expect so much immediately and then start getting frustrated. We say over and over to try and not be so critical of a new component or really anything the...
Eric Clapton Unplugged MoFi UD1S thoughts Thanks for your thorough assessment analogj I will definitely be listening to the album more and will try and focus on the points you mentioned. While I know my system sounds great it may have limitations in revealing these subtle differences. |
