Listening to digital and analog
@bigkidz gave one of the biggest factors.  modest investment of both analog and digital and digital will most likely win.  This was explained in a nice podcast via TMR Audio a couple months ago.  It is like everything in our world in that there ar...
Thinking to upgrade from Audio Research LS27 to LS28
what did you decide, pilrem?I have been all over the place and ended up trading a GSi75 for a REF75SE & LS27.  I know the 75SE is superior to the amp section of the GSi75 and I love the LS27.  I haven't compared another preamp but of course am...
New Bluesound Node – First Impressions
OP, you have proven what most of us have recommended here.  For audiophile sound you simply have to add an external DAC.  Yes, for background music or zone 2 by the pool, maybe, but I still want the best sound regardless where or when it is playin...
New Bluesound Node – First Impressions
I have the Node2i and am currently using a Schiit Gungnir.  I previously used the internal DAC in an Audio Research GSi75 and then auditioned the Mark Levinson 5805 and 585.5.  All this to say the Schiit is an excellent performer compared to those...
Upgrade Quandary: Ref 75SE vs Ref 150 (non SE)
I tried the Focal 1038Be2 with some ARC separates(Classic 120 mono amps), don't recall which preamp and phono I was on at the time.  I was not impressed with the match either, but didn't consider letting go of my ARC gear and sold the Focals.  I h...
Upgrade Quandary: Ref 75SE vs Ref 150 (non SE)
@jo1mtb This was a fun read and I am curious if you system is up to date or if you ever tried anything else.  If I were you I would probably get a REF 75SE for comparison.  It will most likely sound better than the non-SE and obviously will be eas...
Audio Research REF 75SE and REF 80S
Anyone out there have actual listening comparisons to share?
Does anybody use the Vinyl Flat record Flattener?
I purchase a lot of new vinyl from Amazon.  I know it isn't their fault but the pressing industry puts out a LOT of warped product lately.  My theory is they are in too big of a hurry and removing too quickly, but really have no idea why it is so ...

Pure analog system with high power
@adversamTo continue on rfnoise's promotion of Audio Research, I am going to give my whole story to emphasize how much I love their sound.  There are sooo many choices and my experience is very limited, but I am a huge fan and went through this pa...

How many vinyl albums do you own you listen to?
I am 49 and got into vinyl for the first time about 15 years ago.  My buying criteria was let's say not too selective in the beginning....lol.  I was simply so excited to be spinning records and loving every moment.  The past 5 or so years I have ...
Anyone else upset about new Audiogon policies?
I am not currently selling anything. Last year was a big buy/sell year for me. In my experience when I was selling I rarely needed to re-list. If you know your market and product and price correctly it will often sell in the initial 30 days. Some ...
Is it safe to use a higher amperage rating fuse?
It seems like a very poor business strategy.  Most, I would say 99.9% of the people would want to replace a fuse in their gear with a matching rating.  This is what any MFG is going to recommend as they should.  It simply doesn't make sense to me....
Is it safe to use a higher amperage rating fuse?
@arizonabob Maybe you skimmed quickly...you did miss the point.  Read again and see if you have any feedback.
