Power conditioning for multiple dedicated circuits
I have been thinking more about my 12/3 wire configured for two separate circuits.  There is a single neutral and ground wire going back to the panel.  Does this matter when all neutral and ground wires in a house are going back to their same resp...
Power conditioning for multiple dedicated circuits
@jea48 I don’t have a problem that I am aware, but wanted to experiment in power conditioning. Many speak very highly and this would be new ground for me to explore.I did not appreciate any change/improvement in sound before the new circuits eithe...
Power conditioning for multiple dedicated circuits
@jea48 I did the 2nd scenario you described.  I chose this because when I went to Lowes to pick up the Romex they had a bundle of 12/3 wire that was 1/2 price due to a return.  Therefore each duplex receptacle has 2 hot, 1 neutral and 1 ground.  I...
Power conditioning for multiple dedicated circuits
Thanks, artemus....that is exactly what I was looking for.  I will give them a call and get their recommendations.
Audio Research REF 80S Reviews/Comparisons
Thanks for your feedback, BIF.  Your experience is about what I would expect.  The new features were long overdue!  Biasing the REF150 was a pain having to remove the cage.  At least my 75SE has the pots accessible from the faceplate.  I love the ...
GIK acoustic panels
Another +1 for GIKI worked with them about 3 months ago. I sent pics of my space and they came back with a very detailed strategy. I chose 5 of the impressions panels with the decorative wood face. I also got two of the bass traps. All panels are ...
FEX EX Damaged New Legacy's
I sell equipment and use FedEx routinely to ship demos out.  One of them is essentially a 50lb egg in a 20x20x20 box.  There was not enough focus made to the tape on the bottom.  The customer confirmed the FedEx driver got it loaded onto the truck...
Turntable isolation platform Recommendations?
I have a Rega RP10 and was getting feedback from room resonance at high volumes.  I got the Isoacoustics Delos 1.75in thick platform with 6 of their feet.  It worked really well.  I decided to try something different as I didn't like the cone styl...
When someone listens to your system for the first time.
I am 49 with older brothers.  We grew up in the peak of the Bose era.  We all had at least a couple models.  This is where I feel my brother is confused. He had a system many years ago while living in a cinder block room with a Carver receiver and ...
What Integrated Amp do You use
My post will be for 'used' as I decided to return to separates.  Had my speakers and space been content with the Audio Research GSi75's power output, I would have likely kept that for many years.  It is a fabulous performer with a wonderful DAC an...
Fear of volume control
Yes....the music really does have amazing impact on a nice system at that level.  : )
Fear of volume control
@ rvpianoDo you have a radio shack SPL meter?  If not, download a free SPL app on your phone and measure the volume you were accustomed to and then this newfound sweet zone?  I am very curious as to the two levels where you found this improvement....
Tube Preamp - What to buy?
I am a big Audio Research fan so am a +1 for AR.  Find where in the line you can afford today and upgrade later if you love their sound.  You should be able to get an LS17SE line stage for about $2000.  You won't be able to stay within budget with...
Whats on your turntable tonight?
Eric Clapton - UnplugggedThis record sound so very sweet, I cannot wait for my MoFi UD1S to see what else they were able to extract from the tapes.
Buying used vs new?
The only new item I have purchased in 20 years is one cartridge. Everything else which includes at least 50 transactions was ALL used. The main factor with used is knowing what you are buying. That is the beauty of it! You can buy smart and resell...
