iTunes Apple Lossless Setting Mystery
Yes, I have the same setting, etc. I am pretty sure that you are simply reading it in its stored format (Apple Lossless) and then writing it back as Apple Lossless.
small ish floor standers WAF 5-8K
Hi Shadorne -- I read you many helpful posts with great interest, and thanks for the response. Well, your recommendation was right in line with my thinking -- in fact I have some very good experience with Dynaudio monitors in live sound and they w...
digital eq/room correction trade-offs
Thanks again everyone! any thoughts on TacT versus Lyngdorf versus some of the RCS systems built in on the newer pre/pros (Anthem D2, Integra 9.9, Classe)?
digital eq/room correction trade-offs
Well, I asked, I should be prepared to suffer the consequences! Thanks to all for the info and suggestions. Now I guess I get to go on one of these escapades that we all do in this hobby to try out the new thing!
digital eq/room correction trade-offs
Thanks Kirkus and Samujohn. I agree that it's all signal processing and it's all how well you can use the tool. I guess my thinking is that these systems are supposed to self-configure, but my understanding is that they don't do that very well. So...
Considering Int. Amp w/ limited features NEED HELP
Think about Cambridge Audio Integrated. Very well reviewed, very nice amps. Ample power. Audiophile sound for cheap. It has treble and base knobs. Remote control. BTW you can add a subwoofer by just using the pre-outs (L/R stereo) that most any in...
Furutech e-TP60
Very happy with mine. Completely neutral as far as I can tell. I use it for extra outlets on my power conditioner. Works great. Overbuilt, solid. Nice.
is a SACD+CD player better than a universal player
Yeah Ted, you pretty much nailed it, and your answer is very helpful to me. That has been my thinking as well. I was wondering if anyone had a good case to be made for the alternative.
is a SACD+CD player better than a universal player
Chadnliz --Interesting! I had a Lexicon RT-20 before the Bel Canto. The Lexicon was a bit better than the BC on video for sure. The Bel Canto was substantially superior on audio (as it should be given the difference in price). So I went with the B...
is a SACD+CD player better than a universal player
By the way, apologies to all for the spelling errors -- I'm typing too fast!
is a SACD+CD player better than a universal player
Hey I'm just glad someone responded. Not sure why people aren't weighing in on this. Your question isn't too different than mine. I have a fairly high end universal player (Bel Canto PL-1A) that I am very happy with. It's video performance is perh...
What are you getting for $12k in a pre-pro?
Well I can't answer your question exactly, but I can tell you what the difference was for me when I went from a $2000 pre/pro to $6500 pre/pro. The more expensive pre/pro had fewer bells and whistles, fewer settings and options, a very basic user'...
opinion of totem winds
The Winds are very nice speakers, but they have a lot of competition in that price range. I have found (and I've heard dealers of Totems agree with me) that the Winds are not enough better than the Totem Forests (which I own and have been very hap...
Totem Hawk or Forest : 1' close to rear walls
I agree with Ghosthouse completely. I have the Forests, my room and layout are similar to his. I had the exact same experience with placement and break-in. I've also found the Forests are capable of a lot -- every time I've upgraded something (cab...
Blue Ray player with 1080I TV ?
Cytocycle --Your comment about most 1080p TV's upscaling 1080i internally is interesting and not something I knew. Does that mean that it's not time to upgrade the TV? I was thinking that to take full advantage of 1080p sources (e.g. Blu Ray) you ...
