Wilson Audio Haters
I’m afraid that Tru-Fi just failed the Turing test.

+++1 Doug. All we need is yet one more acronym with an unsupported claim to an audio revolution.

@bo1972 I'm not ready to embrace the 2D/3D distinction as a principal taxonomic category for high end audio.  Is 3D inclusive of other key attributes? What other properties are necessary or sufficient within 3D sound? Surely more than 1% of brands...
Wilson Audio Haters
This idea of 2D vs. 3D two-channel listening has baffled me through years of system improvements and visits to shows. 3D is easy to rationalize for an omnidirectional speaker. But with a forward-firing speaker, the 3D effect seems to come from rep...
Repair a Sony SCD 777ES?
Hi Jafant,  I moth-balled my heavily modified SCD-1 for an Esoteric K01X with Rubidium clock.  There is not a huge difference in performance, but only after modifying the Sony to the point that it became unrecognizable as such.
The Palladian-A step beyond
Halcro, I did not and thus can only report without conjecture as to the tonearm/cartridge synergy or lack thereof.  However, I do own an LPM320STR-- which is a damn fine cartridge.
What's been playing on your turntable and what turntable is it ?
Marillion FEAR(F**k Everyone And Run) into Soundsmith OCL-retipped Lyra Helikon> SME 3012R> Luxman PD444.  Probably Marillion's best(and most cleverly titled) album since Brave. My favorite working prog rock band.
The Palladian-A step beyond
Hello Halcro & Chris,FWIW a friend had good results with a London Decca Reference on his Terminator linear tonearm, then tasted an Acutex LPM320STR and sold the Decca.

Steve,  My files from the mid-2000s indicate that the sled motor is a Mabuchi RF-300CH 11400.
Tonearm for Luxman PD 441
After removal the locking armboard you will see that the sliding assembly separates into two pieces: a locking base common to all Luxman 441/445 armboards, and a screw-attached top plate with holes of varying diameter to receive various tonearms. ...

@stevebraxton Instead of tugging on it, try worrying it out with a rocking motion, or maybe working a jewelers screwdriver into the seam of the header. Don’t tug at the ribbon itself. Honestly it’s been a long time since I did this.
Confessions from a VPI owner of some 30 years
I would be surprised if any VPI dealer, or VPI itself, will have an interest in producing a custom armboard for a long-discontinued TNT. SOL! As Lewm suggests, this is a job for a custom shop. As regards VPI disintermediating itself from basic cus...
Pass Labs XA30.5: In praise of Class A magic!
Stay en garde against forwarding fake news.
Diy interconnects RCA connectors.
As Erik mentions, Connex/DH Labs BL-Ag bulk IC cable is pure silver wire with teflon dielectric. Top quality materials that sound fine with KLEI silver RCAs, with R&R or whatever.
Basis or Kuzma VTA tonearms fitted to Thorens TD 125 turntable
I have a 4PT on a Luxman PD444.  The tricky part with a vintage TT is that the platter may be too thin.  You'll need at least 1 3/8" from the top of the arm board to the top of the platter.
