Ideas for a cartridge for a Breuer 8A tonearm
I don't know but was advised it is coming out this summer.
Ideas for a cartridge for a Breuer 8A tonearm
Thanks Doug,Now I am tempted. I have room for one more arm. Anyplace to see a photo? I am thinking between the Triplanar Mk 8 & the Breuer then.

You will need to special order the VdH for it to work on the Breuer. The Headshell fins will otherwise be in the way. You can order the light weight version the XCP or similar.
What is a better value speaker -- Kharma 3.2FE at
Wilson has the best resale value of almost any speaker. This is due to them having a very strict policy on dealer discounts & the support a dealer must give them. Wilsons also are heavily advertised in many consumer magazines & lifestyle m...

Honestly, you can't ask this question. you need to listen for yourself. They are so different in sound. It will be a matter of personal taste. Mine obviously is for th WP7. The Kharma's weekness' were to bothersome to ignore. I even think hearing ...
How is my loading affecting my sound?
I have found that it does. It can restrain dynamics when it is too low. But if it is too open then the treble becomes siblant amongst other things.
How is my loading affecting my sound?
Lakefront Road,Dynavector recommend greater than 30 ohms. They truly don't specify. I have been going nuts changing impedance until I get it right. I am back to 100 ohms. I started at 100 & moved up slowly to 1000 and now back to 100. I think ...
$2k for new Cartridge Benz LP or......
I recommend the My Sonic Labs "The Eminent" for about $2500 brand new. It is an excellent cartridge that I currently prefer in my system to the Dynavector XV-1s. It does have some of the Koetsu Magic but has incredible dynamics & great extensi...
Linear Tracking or Not?, Any Experiences and Recs
Karl-Heinz,How is the low level bass on the Kuzma? I have heard that linear tracking tonearms can have problems w. the disipation of energy since they are more similar to a Unipivot in this point. Also, they sometimes preclude using an outer ring ...
All the Emmlabs dcc2/cdsd hoopla..
It is close to Analogue but IMHO Analogue is better. It really becomes a matter of flavors. I did some recent comparisons of the same recordings on CD on the EMM set compared to Analogue w. my friends. We all prefered analogue. That being said, th...
Setup Dynavector XV-1s on SME V help
I have calibration weights for diamond scales. Now these scales cost over $3000. They measure to 0.002 of a gram. They are so sensitive that any air conditionining or leaning on the table makes a huge difference. I compared my cheap $50 (auction) ...

Nsgarch,I am thinking about your deflection principle for setting antiskate and have a few questions. Antiskate on entry - lowering of the stylus - rather than on exit - lifting the stylus will be different. Won't the deflection that is most impor...

I agree with you. Considering the prices of tonearms, it is ridiculous what we pay for what we get. SME could do a redesign. Imagine all the SME Vs that would appear on the market afterwards.

I was thinking about a Triplanar or a Phantom byself. Now I am thinking about designing a VTA riser for my table. It probably will cost less. Something inside the arm base that would elevate it maintaining the tonearm as level.

Raul,Thank you for the point about leveling the tonearm at the base. I think that is my problem. If the tonearm is ver low (VTA) it is difficult to stick your finger in there. Also with each change in VTA you need to be very careful to maintain th...
