Brinkmann vs TW Acustic Pani,I don't know either cartridge specifically but do know the family sound. The "characterization" of sound you give sounds more like the cartridge than the turntable based on your description. As such, that makes both turntables fairly neutral....
Brinkmann vs TW Acustic All these comparisons with no mention of cartridge being used. Considering how much we compare cartridges as a sole sonic factor how can anyone begin to compare 2 turntables with out taking into consideration the cartridge. Brinkman is often displ...
Parallel? How do you set the VTA? I use a tiny level that comes with Van den Hull cartridges. I then added a few more lines with a magic marker so I can have finer measurements. I place the level on the headshell to check VTA and azimuth. Does the trick.
Allnic Puritas vs. Koetsu Stone Body Milimetr,I enjoyed your digression. I have owned my BN since it came out. The Raven Anniversary is gorgeous and I would myself have gone that way just due to the ergonomics. The battery PSU is a huge improvement. I have compared them side by side ...
Allnic Puritas vs. Koetsu Stone Body I owned a Raven AC3 and now a BN. I use currently a Lyra Titan I with a Schroder SQ. I have no desire to upgrade as it is a perfect match with my phono the Thoress / TW. I also use mostly the Allaerts MC2 Finish with a Pass XP25. Both setups are a...
krell kct, pass labs xp 10 or 2.5, spectral? B&W 801s are a bit slow by nature. I owned them. They need very powerful amplification and to be played loud to come alive. It is the speakers mostly, then the amps and preamp last based on you description.
Next Phonostage I have the original Thoress & a Pass XP25. Both excellent. Pass is amazing fr extremely low gain cartridges with exceptional bass (probably the best there is) and detailed natural mids. The highs are warm but maybe lacking the tube magic. A gr...
New Schroeder linear tonearm, any thoughts? Raul,Very tempting, but when do I leave well enough alone? I have seen so many great designs and Wally measured Tonearms a few years ago to rotational inertia (the force needed by the groove to move the stylus) across the LP. This basically would ...
New Schroeder linear tonearm, any thoughts? I would love to demo it. But I do find it priced a bit high.
New Schroeder linear tonearm, any thoughts? Sarcaher,Thanks. I think I get how it works. Would love a video. Seems interesting.
New Schroeder linear tonearm, any thoughts? Any links for a picture. I am also very interested as I love you SQ.
Micro Seiki, or TW AC-1 Jonathan,Just to help people know a little more about you. OMA stands for Oswald Mills Audio. You used to manufacture your wn slate turntable. Not sure if it still in production. If I remember correctly it was an idler drive. And as for synergy, i...
Micro Seiki, or TW AC-1 Pani,You have me surprised as I owned the Hyperspace & Raven AC. The characterization you have given the Hyperspace is way off. And it contradicts reviews as well. If any turntable has a characteristic sound the Nottingham would be it. I still...
Raven AC3 I have a TW BN witha Schroeder SQ matched with a Titan I. I stopped changing my analogue front end ages ago. I am just happy and listen. You have a great combination in arm & cartridge (if you know how to set it up). All turntables need the ri...
New Pass Labs Xs amps Based on what a friend said the sound of the XS was a huge step up in control and three dimensionality over the XA 100.5s. Never heard them myself. The bass is supposed to be immensely improved as well. This was on top of the line Avalon speakers ... |
