EMMS Labs CDSA vs. AA Capitole Reference SE
I have owned the AA Capitole (not reference SE) and currently own the CDSAse. In a nutshell, on SACD for me EMM is incredible. On CD the EMM & Capitole are close. The description of the "tube" like sound of the AA is actually more correct than...
Wilson's new speaker the Sasha is coming.
Daveb,Hence my switch to Tara cables. Smooth and extended highs without glare. What I have found is that opinions on treble/high frequencies vary between listeners and you need to understand the other persons bias before accepting their recommenda...
Koetsu vs Dynavector vs Lyra??
I have owned a Koetsu Jade, Urushi,an Air Tight PC-1, MSL Eminent, and more. I currently own a Titan i, and VdH Colibri. IMO w. your arm you would be best served by the MSL/Air Tight/Transfiguration family. While the Titan i is incredible I find i...

Clio09,That is my platform. I am recommending a much simpler approach which is to place springs directly under the table. Never tried it but I am sure it can be done. Very inexpensive to try considering my guess that the Rega doesn't weigh much.

That is where you need to do the calculations. How much weight you have and how many springs you want to use. How can I be specific for someone else's system? Maybe the OP will want to place the turntable on a platform and then on springs. Then it...
Cables for an MBL Reference system?
Something different, try demaging your cables. It really works. I have the Tara Zeros, and they are anything but dark. But..I can get pretty close w. a copper foil cable I make myself.

I would suggest Wilson dropped the retail price due to the current economic situation in combination with other factors. Many retail brands including watches, jewelry, clotihng manufacturers have cut Suggested Retail Prices by about 20-30% this pa...

Some simple springs. That is what many platforms use. Get them from Mcmaster Car website. Cost you probably $20. You just need to buy the right amount of springs for the weight of the table. This IME will do better than anything above

But then why did the Maxx IIIs go up so much in price. Seems odd.
TW Acustic Black Knight
Lewm,I am both rational & irrational for sure. This hobby is irrational when we spend X $ to listen to music. Yes I am partially convinced. But, I ponder my decisions for long periods of time. Never done based on impulse (always backfires for ...

There are compromises w. both designs. Magies have their limits as well. Need tons of current, and can't play loud. Need perfect symmetry for setup etc etc. Wilsons are a little more flexible. No question the Maggies give you something special. If...

Mordante,I personally agree with you about upgrades in general. I would say I bat 500 on upgrades being good or bad. With the Raven AC that was one of my lucky ones. I won't list the number of mistakes I made listening to people here on Agon and s...
TW Acustic Black Knight
Mordante,If you heard it at the show in Holland as per TW, the Black Night & AC did not all have the same cartridge & tonearms. In addition, matching phono stage to cartridge was an issue. I am going from memory here, but that is what I re...
Vpi vs. TW Acustic
Sirspeedy has an issue of other sorts. He has sold off his system due to having a problems that have nothing to do with TW. Sirspeedy why don't you just come out and state your true complaints. It isn't fair to everyone here for you to bash a prod...
Vpi vs. TW Acustic
Sirspeedy,If you find the Raven overpriced, then I wonder how you find some other designs priced well above? You have me quite surprised. Then how is a tiny cartridge priced more than many a turntable for what is essential almost no material cost....
