BEST TUBE PREAMP FOR NUFORCE 9 V2 SE ??
The input impedance on the 9 V2 SE is 45K ohms and the voltage sensitivity is 2.5V (I think). Keep these numbers in mind when shopping for a tube preamp. Since your looking for an active preamp, you should be fine with the Nuforce's 2.5V sensitivi...
Crimson Speaker Cables?
I originally had my speaker cable run as a bi-wired configuration. IMO, the Crimsons are a ridiculously good cable at a price which is a fraction of many others (which don't sound as good).
Crimson Speaker Cables?
I use the Crimson interconnects and speaker cables. They simply are the best cables I've had in my system. They replaced my Kimber Kable Selects and My Nordost Tyrs.
Cheap DAC w/ volume control for direct amp input?
Burson HA-160. Loved it. $1,250 new.

Fusion10: In my opinion, the sales of cds don't necessarily mean that the sales of cd PLAYERS will continue. Think about it. When you have a hard drive based system you're putting the music into your computer by either downloading from the net, or...

Will Vincent is Autospec.
Best treatment for speaker feet????
Nsgarch: Interesting opinion. I respectfully disagree about the spikes. The flooring makes sense though.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with you PO. Popping in a cd is obviously easier than setting up a server/dac system. You have to admit thought, things sure look like they will go the computer/dac route....right?
Best treatment for speaker feet????
I would stay away from granite. IMO, you need to ABSORB, not REFLECT. What I believe happens with granite for example, is the drivers move causing vibrations in the cabinet. Those vibrations travel down the cabinet, through the spikes, into the gr...
Does your amp/preamp/int amp have to look good?
Back when I had all EAR equipment I used to just look at the rack, with the music off. It was that beautiful to me. Now they're gone. While EAR stuff sounds great, it's really overpriced, IMO. Oh well...

You just don't get it. I have no problem with someone who disagrees with me. Quite the contrary in fact. I WELCOME a difference of opinion, but take a look a some of the endless rants PO has made and tell me he is not on something.

PO: Microdots, gel tabs, paper, shrooms, mescaline, nitrous, california orange, panama red perhaps? Whatever it is you have, let me know where and when we can get together to discuss this further.....fascinating.
dac advice
The MHDT Havana is nice for the money....doesn't overload you with detail. The Burson dacs are good. If you can swing it, the Metrum Octave is supposed to be nice.
How reliable are EAR amps
I've owned the 834 integrated, the 890 stereo amp, and the Acute cd player. I never had one hiccup or issue of any kind with any of them. Reliable? Yes. Overpriced? Yes.

Pettyofficer: Oh no! Does computer audio mean that people will have to.....god forbid......LEARN SOMETHING?
