Mac sound quality Petty: Where do you get your acid and how do I get some? It's painfully obvious that all of your posts on this subject scream the same thing: You are scared to learn about computer audio so the easy thing to do is bash it.
Need DAC suggestion I thought the Furutech handled 24/96.
Need DAC suggestion Look into the Furtech ADL GT40 USB DAC. Reviewed by Malcolm Steward in the new HiFi+. I think it's around $500. A bit more than you wanted to spend but at this price point your options become less and less.
Higher-Fi has full page ad in dupont registry Also, if he "sticks with the audio magazines, audio will never reach new people.
Higher-Fi has full page ad in dupont registry Agree with all of the above. This is America. The guy has a business to run and he's trying to advertise to people with money. Not to mention exposing more people to audio doesn't hurt.
Spikes-Marble-Carpet-Wood Floors I would try to absorb speaker vibrations into a maple platform. Think about this: If your speakers sit on top of a hard surface (like marble), then all vibrations that your speaker produces goes down the cabinet, through the spikes, and hit the ma...
Anyone have a Music First Preamp ? Wilsynet,May I ask which MF you had in your system?
Lightspeed Attenuator - Best Preamp Ever? Thanks Clio09. It's nice to know that you've had success with such a wide window of input sensitivity....makes my decision easier. There are a number of passives that I'm interested in but given the price of the Lightspeed and its overwhelming pop...

Anyone have a Music First Preamp ? 100% agree with Pubul57. My friends have the copper and silver versions. They sound very nice, but waaaayyyyyyy overpriced IMO. You should've saved some dough and got the Lightspeed. I hope you bought your MFA used...
a good pre amp with remote usd6000 or less used After much thought I've narrowed it down to 129,038. I'll get back to you.
Best bookshelf for House Music Without question: Quested. They are active speakers. The model you need is the 2108 (I think). They have an 8" driver with built in amplifier. If you need a hard-thumping monitor, consider nothing else.
Number of yrs. to reach the finished line? Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't you used to own the Weiss Minerva? If so, I assume you prefer the Lamp. Can you briefly compare the two? I'm considering the Lamp dacs in the furture.
Number of yrs. to reach the finished line? Glory: How long have you had the Lampizator and Tenor?
Is the Accuton driver that good? Andro: I don't think the solution to ceramics is a preamp, (as stated in my above post). They, IMO, are cold and uninvolving. |
