Cary 805 AE-do they go low?
BTW, much appreciated info here. The Zus have a class D Hypex amp driving a 12" subwoofer, signal taken off the mains. So the signal and it's effectiveness at juicing the Hypex should depend on the linearity of the Carys and not so much on the the...
Cary 805 AE-do they go low?
I currently run McIntosh MC 60s, and softness in the bass, given the potential of the down firing subs in the Definitions is like leaving part of the main course on the table. These speakers don't need the power of the amps to produce the bass, bu...
Cary 805 AE-do they go low?
Thanks George. So in a few words you're saying they would leave something to be desired.Probably going another route then. Thanks
Is it possible to have a quiet vinyl records
As above, some of the same some differences. Ultrasonic cleaner.Good phono stage. BAT VK P10SeLOMC cart.Unless there is noise on the surface that can't be removed by cleaning, then there is no noise through the system.
mono block or bi-amps which would you pick?
Zipost, I've been tossing around the idea of the Zandens for a while now. Curious to hear how your system comes out, particularly the bass. The Zandens have the rep of being very smooth.
Is powerfull Amps only for low sensitivity speakes?
It's just a hunch but I would be surprised if 60W RMS pumped into 100db sensitivity sepakers doesn't at some point on bass heavy material run toward clipping. This is pretty much what I run and given my fondness of dynamic range and dislike of amp...
Sac Thailand Glowmaster KT-88
Looking at one myself. Just curious, did you purchase?
Suggestion on XLR Cables
Will warn this thread up again, if possible. I have a fully balanced system, up to the interconnects between the pre and amp. Use Zu Mission single ended to the amps. But it looks like I’m about to get the bug, balanced amps. Problem is the run to...
high-efficiency loudspeakers
Have Zu Definition IV, and with the right electronics [tubes] they make music. Will say that with any hi-eff speakers you have to clean up the AC a bit. Actually, I'm in love with them but hate to do the fanboy thing.
power conditioner
While I'm sure that voltage regulation would be desirable what I have deciphered from all the opines over the years leads me to believe that balanced power gives the best improvement in performance. Balanced through all components combined with ba...
Speaker Placement - When it's perfect!
Took me about two years, main problem being bass cancellation from the front wall. Speakers have down firing subs, active and the distance from the front wall and side walls needed slight adjustments. The one note bass finally disappeared when tra...
Shout Out to Zu Audio's customer service
They get it. Always well thought out advice and service.
Long distance between preamp and power amp
Thanks AL!
Long distance between preamp and power amp
I run about 25' from a Zesto Leto, floating balanced preamp, to my Mcintosh MC60s. Output impedance 250 Ohms to Input impedance 500KOhms. Ran it through the wall in EMT conduit and don't have issues. Always wondered though, if I'm missing somethin...
Zu def 4 are they the best speaker made?
I have a pair of Def 4s and they sound like the signal coming into them. I think Sean showcases the dynamics of the speaker, which is great but not necessarily by itself an end all goal for most. They can sound any way you want them to sound. With...
