Some thoughts on ASR and the reviews
I have no desire to criticize, castigate, or in any other way demean Amir. However, based on the fact that ASR’s reviews do impact (to some degree) a number of companies offering their good-faith best products to the audio enthusiasts’ world, I w...
Favorite moment with music in your car.
Current Tesla S Model....best fidelity i’ve had in a car (for a car that is!) with the lowest noise floor. All the coal rolling junk 30 years ago sounded like a screeching banshee coupled with all the obnoxious cabin noise...no thanks, no nostalgi...
my own experience with Tekton Design
I have had Eric's speaker in the past. For the price, one really cannot fault the sonics of it in any way. I could name all kinds of speakers that are essentially cold fake sounding ear rippers for what they cost (that simply get carried by a thin...
Some thoughts on ASR and the reviews
Did someone say something eluding to the fact that ASR or Amir owns a 2 channel dealership or has some financial interest in a particular brand of electronics or speakers? Is this true or just hearsay? @audition__audio He is a Revel/Harman Deal...
My new Borresen X3's
I was told the Z series is being discontinued ..so I guess we don’t talk,ok Oh, ok.... In that case, we could put the M3 and the X6 on the same high end Aavik electronics+tweaks (that they only use with the M3) in the same room side by side and...
My new Borresen X3's
The problem with Borresen is exactly what Raidho did when he was with that company..They upgrade or come with with new lines way way too often leaving those who bought their speakers 12 months ago or 24 months ago holding the obsolete bag..In 202...
Coda #8, Pass XA25, or Schiit Tyr to replace PS Audio M700
@sid-hoff-frenchman THE SHRILL IS GONE Well the Tyrs are in place and so far so great.  Out of the box the sound stage expanded slightly (hoping for more), the instrument placing and detail improved nicely.  The high end shrill disappeared even ...
Power cords: does length matter?
Interconnects and speaker cables matter and the power conditioner matters a lot. The power cord just needs to be shielded properly, reject noise and not act as a noisy antenna, which can be achieved through a 100 dollar AliExpress purchase. Length...
18 inch subwoofer vs multiple 12 inch subwoofers with bookshelf speakers
18” subs are a bad idea. @mijostyn Yes, except when it is sealed and has the servo controlled drivers deployed by Rythmik (it becomes doable). Yes, it is a tad bit of a compromise compared to their 12 inch offerings, etc, but, it could put you...
An ANSWER....of sorts......
Most magic happened because of the room. The human ear prefers to be in certain types of spaces for music listening, to begin with, and they tend to be larger spaces.. But, in most cases, a dude who’ll easily spend 30k on cables (while he sits in ...
A stupid question(s) about power cords
Whether it cost $10 or $1000 "No diffawrance" as the French Chef said about margarine! 🤣
Best DAC’S $5k to $15k
Absolutely, listen to the Mola Mola. It is the most perfect sounding DAC I have had in my system, but not the most musical, IMO, and so I sold mine. Your speaker is not musical. You sold the wrong item.
Coda #8, Pass XA25, or Schiit Tyr to replace PS Audio M700
TYR is incredible. I'd put that Schiit against stuff that costs 10 times or 20 times more. In fact....I already have. TYR should be endgame for most, if you don't care about looks, that is. All hail the genius Schiit lords Jason Sto and Mike Mo.
Audiophile frame of mind
Shunyata fluff is no step above the lower priced Audioquest. Try and get some Ansuz cables (the ones Michael Borresen directly had his hands in), if it fits with your wallet.
Passive subwoofer amps help!
Use a kill-a-watt meter or something and determine how many watts you are using when pushing the sub. You may be able to get away with a lot less power (than you think you need).
