Fiddler, for those not familiar with your project can you give us a little more background information. Who makes PHY's and what is their web link? Did you design a cabinet from scratch and if not, give us more detail? What XO's are you employing ...

New TV technology ?
The surface-conduction electron-emitter display (SED) is a flat-panel, high-resolution display currently under development by Canon and Toshiba. It is expected to gain wide acceptance for use in television receivers. Some SEDs have a diagonal meas...

Professor Lirpa was a particular favorite of mine. In 1979 I bought my first Lirpa amp called the Uppa Luppa X-97. 1,000 watts of sonic bliss. I just read an article in Tube Magazine stating that Dr. Lirpa was coming out with his first Solid State...

Who makes an active speaker that isn't ported?
Bambaywalla - thanks for the FYI. I've seen, but not heard the Meridian DSP8000 speakers. Given what I've read on this board, I'm a little skeptical about 6 outwardly facing woofers. Why so many and why place them in that particular arrangement? T...
Who makes an active speaker that isn't ported?
Gregm - you're correct there are XO's in active speakers. What I meant to say is... well, precisely what you pointed out. My mistake.Cinematic Systems... I thought ATC's were ported in the front. What multi-driver model is not ported?
Who makes an active speaker that isn't ported?
Timf - To go along with a dose of subjectivity, I believe there is science to support the theory that a sealed enclosure will produce a more accurate bass response than a ported design. Zoya - An active speaker is one that is not passive. Just kid...
