Are extended warranties necessary on plasmas?
Thank you Pescolar. I'll give everyone an example of the value of an extended warranty. I purchased a computer several years ago from an unmentioned PC manufacturer. Within months I had to replace the internal CPU fan twice and the hard drive once...
Are extended warranties necessary on plasmas?
I paid for the peace of mind that comes with the extended warranty. I wasn't thrilled with paying for the extended warranty, but I rationalized it as an insurance policy on my entertainment investment. If anything goes wrong - no worries.
Question for Zu owners
I contacted Zu about this question and they sent me back an email letting me know they're working on a Center channel speaker design. It will be out sometime in 2006, however they could not give me an exact date. They recommended Tones for the sur...
Acurus Act 3 vs Lexicon Processor
Flrnlamb, Ultimate AV gives the Lexicon RV-8 its Platinum Award. You shoot your credibility to pieces when you make absolute claims like that... people know how to use the Internet. Here's the link: http://ultimateavmag.com/avreceivers/405lexicon/1...
Processor hunt....does this animal exist??
Sorry, but the first thing I'd do if I were you is look at your speaker selection. Revel's are your the bright link in your system. I find them to be colored, harsh and fatiguing. There are so many better options to choose from.
Upcoming plasma 1080p tv's vs Sony SXRD LoCS?
I checked out Sony's latest DLP and many plasma models, including Pioneer, Panasonic, Phillips, LG, Samsung, etc. I chose Hitachi's 55" plasma. Amazing!
HIGH DEF DVD...WHATS THE LATEST NEWS?
Ears - If you recall correctly Blu Ray was not originally backward compatible with existing DVD's. The Panasonic technology was, however. Sony hearing the gasps and outrage from existing DVD owners finally jumped on board to make their technology ...
I have HD & plasma - recommendations on AVR
Guys, I'm a somewhat talented person - however audio setup is not one of my strong suites. To avoid the mega stress associated possible screw-ups, I usually pay to have someone do it for me. I don't know how they have it hooked up right now.I just...
I have HD & plasma - recommendations on AVR
I forgot to mention that I'm also looking at the AVM 30.Thedautch - I've heard the Arcam's are more geared for music in comparison to video. Has this been your experience or does it handle both well.
H.P.Caravelles owners, are you still Satisfied.
Warren, you know this begs the question. Which is better the Zu Definitions or the Caravelles? What drove you to purchase the Definitions? What are the differences in sound characteristics, as it appears the technologies are vastly different?
Speaker phase and timing
Slightly off topic, but I love Roger Waters solo work! The reunification last summer of Pink Floyd was a mind blowing experience for me. Man I'd love to see those guys go on tour again.
HIGH DEF DVD...WHATS THE LATEST NEWS?
Sony announced this week that Blu-ray will be backward compatible.
Just bought a 55" plasma...
One thing that is getting annoying is toggling between aspect ratios. When I'm on a non-HD channel I stretch the picture to fill the screen, but when I swith over to an HD station it displays it at Zoom 1 I believe. I want it to automatically conv...
Just bought a 55" plasma...
Dweller, my Hitachi does 1080i and HDMI. It was installed today and looks great.
Any thoughts on Hitatchi 55" Plasma?
I just bought the 55" Hitachi plasma. I saw it side-by-side with 50" Samsung, LG, Phillips and Panasonic. I was very impressed with the picture quality of the Hitachi and with the 20% extra viewing for under $5K, it was a no brainer decision. Hita...
