Sonus Faber Guarneri vs Guarneri Memento
Milimetr, I have a small room, albeit a dedicated room. The room is appx. 12ftX10ft with a vaulted ceiling that rises to appx.13ft. The room is constructed of wood/drywall and I use a couple of large LP racks as absorbtion in the corners behind the ...
CAT SL-1 Signature Mk II
90493m, I rolled in tubes into my CAT Sig and this was a very nice improvement. In the phono stage I now use NOS GE smooth plates.Another improvement was when I replaced the stock loading plugs with WBT plugs with Vishays. You may want to try thes...

Stevehuff1, Are you saying that the GM's are an easier load on the amp than the GH's?What ancillary equipment are you using and is this the sameequipment and room your were using for the GH's?What does 'maybe not as syrupy' mean in regards to the ...
Which MoFi and MoFi UHQR LPs?
I had the 200 gm version of Getz Gilberto on the table the other day. It is pretty amazing IMHO. I also really like the 200gm Muddy Waters Folk Singer as well, trouble is I play it too often.
SF Guarneri with ARC Reference 110-CD7-3 ?
Manpr6, back to the question, I also would like very much to know what people's opinion is of this match. I like the ARC Ref 110 very much but have not heard it with G's and also wander how that match up would sound.
Good stores in LA
Magfan, we don't have any "cool, rainy winter days" here in San Diego, the council banned them.
Size matters Smaller that is
Nocaster, I think that with the Guarneri's one gets a little spoilt since they do so many things right. However, in a large room I happen to think you need a large speaker, or at least one that can fill the room easily without strain. The Guarneri...
Good stores in LA
Looking at the responses above, it amazes me that a city as big as LA has so few hi-end outlets. Perhaps this is a statement on the health of the business in the present economy.BTW,Isn't Gene Rubin still in the LA area as well?
How far, how much?
I think Sidssp really summed it up well!!I totally agree with what he said and wish more people would learn by what he said.
SF Guarneri Homage vs Harbeth 7ES3
Brianmgrarcom, Have you had a real instrument, in this instance, a guitar, in the same room as the speakers and therefore were able to do an 'AB' comparison. Or, are you listening to the reproduction via speakers and then relying on your audible m...
SF Guarneri Homage vs Harbeth 7ES3
Ggavetti, you say that your friends/reviewers suggested a listen to the G's, did you not have an opportunity to do that?Frankly, IMHO the GH is if anything underrated in its musicality and acoustic perfomance. I teach guitar as a side line and whe...
Sonus Faber Guarneri vs Guarneri Memento
Flg2001, I think the Jadis amps are a great match for GH's.The only question is if they have enough drive capability. You might also consider Joules and Lamm's. I also recently heard BAT amps with them, not bad at all but not as good as the Jadis. ...
Sonus Faber Guarneri vs Guarneri Memento
Semi,it is interesting that you mentioned the size of the room. My room is very small which probably has something to do with how well the GH's integrate in the room.I cannot support much bass in the room and of course the GH's don't really do muc...
Tweeter or Woofer connection with single wire
That is a good question Bokfudo. Since electricity and therefore electrical signals move at the speed of light, I doubt the woofer has too much time to gobble up the signal before the signal bridges the appx 1-2" span between the connectors...:0)N...
Sonus Faber Guarneri vs Guarneri Memento
Semi,MF at Stereophile reviewed the GM's in Vol 30 #8.In it MF says the GH's use Scanspeak woofers, which as we both know they don't. He also says he hasn't heard the GH's so of course he cannot compare the two models ( fair enough). The 6" Audiote...
