Who is Michael Fremers'
Plebians? I'm sorry Speedy, but speak for your own sorry ass. You seem to go from one extreme to the other. That's fine, your opinion. But don't lump us, as in we all here in A'gon, in the same class. Especially just to garner favor with an indivi...
Musicality vs Transparency & Detail
Well said, Rushton. Salvatore's description explains that detail retrieval is musical, and I completely agree with this concept. A system needs proper transparency and detail retrieval to get to the music. Live music is seldom rolled off, plodding...
Where does a sellers responsibility stop?
Righty tighty, lefty loosey! Not really counter-intuitive.
Where does a sellers responsibility stop?
I'm guessing this person is a victim of google search. Google knows text but it's up to the user to handle the concept, or context in this case, part.
Acapella vs. Avantgarde
Oops! Just saw Kotjac's prior post. That answers my question.Eljaro, it doesn't sound to me like the Acapellas were demoed under the optimum conditions either.
Acapella vs. Avantgarde
Amfibius, can you bi-wire the Violons? That's one feature that is missing from the LaCampanellas, IMO.
Is analog & vinyl anoying? Is it worht it.
Wow, Mike! Now you've done it by mentioning XM! This thread is going to turn into the Stern vs. O&A debate!I'm with you, though. XM is great in the car!
Acapella vs. Avantgarde
I've also found that the LaCampanellas work better with more power. I tried my 50w Lectron push/pull but they really opened up with my Rogue M-150s at 150w/ch. Not only did the bass response improve but I believe it also cleaned up what little "ho...
Lp playback rituals
Along the lines of what John is saying, this notion of there being some kind of ritual is really exaggerated. If you're the least bit handy you can build your own vacuum record cleaning machine. For the majority of LPs I clean them once with mine, ...
Is analog & vinyl anoying? Is it worht it.
So I have to ask, after several days and so many posts. How is this thread different that every other vinyl vs. cd thread over the last decade and what new insights have we learned?
New Vinyl Setup
Doug, I must give credit to TWL as well. He once gave out this advice about buying higher up the first time. Unfortunately for me it was well into my 'table journey. But looking back I can really appreciate now what he was saying.
New Vinyl Setup
I'm sure there are other tables in the same range as the 1400 that are very good. I offer it because that is one, along with a Basis 2100 and 2500, that I've spent some time with. The 2100 used a Vector arm and latter I used that same Vector and a...
External motor’s connection with the speed of my t
What is it sitting on now? Sometimes the best results are from simple little tweaks. I'm using thin weather stripping under the motor pod on my Galibier to keep it from sliding on the polished granite shelf I use.
New Vinyl Setup
Now you've gone and put me on the spot, Tvad. :) But I'm game for taking a few risks here.My experiences with the starter tables was a mixed bag. They are certainly good enough to have shown me what vinyl can be. But in my case I'm a hands-on type...
External motor’s connection with the speed of my t
Sounds like your motor pod is skating towards the platter. If I understand you correctly. A simple try might be to put a few pieces of masking tap under the motor pod contact points. It might be enough added friction to stop the skate, assuming th...
