@danager  I tried that two years and two preamps and two sets of amps and an integrated ago.  And of course I can’t remember, but it’s simple enough to try.

@erik_squires  I’ve two different amps and two different preamps and it stays the same.  And this is the second pair of Reference 5’s (long story ) and the sound is just as sharp in the same areas and volumes. 🙁

Handling Heavy Amps
I just purchased a pair of 83 pound mono blocks. I tried putting them on top of my cabinet and about hurt myself, so now they are sitting on pieces of granite and there are furniture movers underneath. I can move them when needed without to much t...

I miss the Heathkit and Hafler days. I built a Heathkit multi band radio, A David Hafler D110(?) preamp and a couple of D220 amps that got modded several times.    Ahhh, the good old days.
