who needs a cd player anymore
This new way to liten to music opens so much more different type of music to the listener. How does the method of play back open up the listener to different types of music?
who needs a cd player anymore
Of course, if you have your CD's properly organized, finding them is not an issue. Personally, I don't know 3000 songs I want to hear on a regular basis so having that many songs stored on a server is pointless to me. At any given time, I have abo...
Help Finding my system bright...
In my experience, brightness is often alleviated by readjusting your speaker placement. Play around with your toe in, the distance between your speakers and your seating position relative to the speaker placement. Also, try tilting your speakers b...
Pioneer BDP-05FD hdmi handshake issues
Don't you guys lose something routing hdmi thru receiver first?I run my Panny 35 via HDMI into an Onkyo 805 and then HDMI from the 805 to my display. Its a direct pass through and doesn't alter the signal at all. I've tried it both ways to be sure...
Pioneer BDP-05FD hdmi handshake issues
Mumbles, go here and scroll down to the bdp-05 thread and ask your question there. Huge knowledge base on bd players at AVS:http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=149Avguygeorge, I would suggest a Panasonic bdp player. I've owned the Pa...
How is it ? that a tuner smokes the table ???
I can't imagine paying $9000 to listen to commercial FM radio.
Paradigm Studio 100 v.3 vs, v.4
Are you using these for home theater or for music only? If for using them even partially for HT you're going to want a sub anyway, so I'd go for the 60's and a sub; or since you can get the 100v.3 for the same price, I'd probably get those and a s...
Sunday morning music...what's spinning?
I'm partial to jazz on Sundays. Bill Evans is always a favorite.
Sound for my new theater?
You're going to get so many opinions on this that you better start to narrow the parameters. First, what is your budget? Second, is your first priority HT or music?
Damaged Dynavector 20XL
Thanks for the replies. I'm just going to have the 20xl retipped since I know it works well with my arm, etc.
Damaged Dynavector 20XL
Looks like it there would be a $500 premium over retipping vs. trading in my cartridge for the Karat (with a trade in discount). Is the Karat that much better than the 20xl? Also, are any of you guys using the Karat with the VPI JWM9 tonearm? Look...
Damaged Dynavector 20XL
Yeah, I think that's what I'm going to do.thanks
Who's your guitar daddy now?
Martykl, I'm sure you recognize that Mayer is a lot younger than the guys you hold him up to in comparison. Most young guitarists are imitators to a large degree until they find their own voice. I'm not a Mayer fan per se, frankly I'm never listen...
CD Mats -- do they work? Are they dangerous?
No, I haven't tried the carbon one.
CD Mats -- do they work? Are they dangerous?
I use the SID branded one that is green color and have used it in several different CDP's and DVD players with no operational issues. Whether or not they are beneficial is in the ear of the beholder. Like most tweaks, the benefits of these devices...
