Passing of an Audiogon Member David, a nice post. I remember your post after visiting Ezra. A good memory. Let this be a valuable reminder to focus on what is important in our lives. Especially in a time when COVID, politics, and so many strong willed opinions consume our d...
Sam here and this goes much deeper than i ever thought. Touche. Have not read his other threads. Pious I am not. Just thought this was an interesting post. Forgive me. So what is your opinion on fuses uberwaltz?
Focal Headphone Repairs? Unlike the OP, sounds like you have a good dealer. Again, he ought to dump his.
Sam here and this goes much deeper than i ever thought. Wow. Not feelin the love on this thread. Now I have no opinion on this at all. Interesting perhaps. I only hope that all the above members are as equally critical of the high end fuse club. Again not sayin one is right or wrong. Just want to...
Focal Headphone Repairs? Wow. Great reason to cross Focal off your list. Too bad your dealer did not tell you that ahead of time. Almost sounds like a no win. Blow the bucks to fix them just to have them break again. Fix and sell them--I’d have a hard time doing that with...
New feet for my Marantz If you want generic black rubber feet of all sizes, just go on Amazon
I think some cables are just a little too expensive. Almost. Looks more like a snake that swallowed a stealth sports car. Maybe that accounts for 60K of production cost!
CHANDOS label... I would agree that I have some very nice recordings on that label. Wish I could tell you specifically what accounts for this. I can say I have some labels that have a higher percentage of what I consider excellent recordings when it comes to SQ....
Built a DIY butcher block and iron pipe rack over the weekend I think the rack looks GREAT. Nice job matching the finish to your speakers. A really clean and solid set up. If I ever have the need for a new rack I could go for this. I might go for a bit of a 45 degree bevel with the router on the shelves....
Subwoofer Suggestion @kulo Just so you know, RSL does not have dealers and they do ship all over the world. You could do three subs for $1200. Heck, you might be happy with two! They really are a great value.
Speaker shootout update; aggressive treble eliminating some (fairly?) Several thoughts:Many years ago bought a pair of Def Tech BP-10's following an all to quick audition. They were bright. I had 6 CD's that sounded great. The rest not so much. Learned to hate them. They did not "break in" nor did my ears adj...
Subwoofer Suggestion I just auditioned a pair of RSL Speedwoofers. This is a compact 10 inch sub that has to be the best value sub for the money I have heard. It can reach down solidly to 25hz, is compact, all for a bagain price of $400. Shipping and return shippin...
Soundproofing He's kinda right. Soft batting between studs, joists will do very little. You need mass that ideally is separated from mass. Then find a very heavy solid door sealed on the perimeter. And then be able to block sound that travels in air ducts.
Alternatives to Brick and Mortar " Selling direct to consumer saves the customer NO MONEY"Are you out of your ever loving mind??Did you forget about Eric Alexander at Tekton?? Please, add up the cost of the drivers, crossover, cabinets, and then shipping. Look at his profit ma...
Speaker upgrade around 100k retail Buy the Tekton Moabs, get better sound, and donate the leftover $95,500 to charity. |
