CD player suggestions...
Got to disagree with the Emotiva recommendation. That one that got sent back. Looks nice, cool remote, but non-gapless playback is a huge problem. I opened that CD player up, and it’s a $10 plastic OEM computer drive. Complete junk packaged in...
Nearly all manufacturers do not advertise/exhibit their product measurements? Why?
ASR is a joke for people who want to think that their $500 (insert source piece of equipment here) is just as good, if not better than a $15000 (insert source piece of equipment). ASR's "measurements" PROVE it's better! They lost me for good aft...
What is Your End Game System?
I'm pretty happy with where I'm currently sitting, thanks.  Not sure there is an end-game, if simply because gear gets old or breaks and needs to be replaced. Sometimes it's cheaper just to replace something, or if parts are no longer available, ...
Couple of OCC Speaker Cable Options
I've used SKW products before (interconnects). They're pretty good for what they are. I've not used their speaker cables, though. Can't go wrong with Amazon. If you don't like them, return them.
Considering Towers in the $3000 range
"My listening preferences are eclectic." Not sure what that means, but I'm going to assume you want a "general purpose" loud speaker.  With a budget of $3K, I'd second the DI from Tekton.  May also want to look at the used market.....there are ...
Cables to settle brightness
For your application, I would choose something that's pure copper (as opposed to silver, or a mix/alloy). I like Synergistic Research cables. There are always some available on usedcable . com
Thoughts about the "Cheapaudioman" on YouTube
@langelo68 I watch Tarun more often than not when his videos come out. I’m not into everything he auditions, but I do like his calm, decaffeinated demeanor, lol. I like Thomas, too. Zero Fidelity reviewed what I consider to be a "Holy Grail" piece...
Used gear prices and the state of the hobby.
@dadork , I hadn't thought about it like that, but I do see your point. @hilde45 , I regularly use this site, hifishark, usaudiomart, etc....I do have my eye out for a specific piece of gear, and the price is all over the place.   To all, thank...

FWIW, I just checked out his Cheap Watch Guy channel. LOL. JC, and I thought some of the stuff he reviewed on his audio channel was junk. Just...wow. More power to you, Randy, but again, not for me.
Thoughts about the "Cheapaudioman" on YouTube
@mr_m , Interesting you brought that up (the cheap watch channel). I'm also "fairly" into watches (and you think audio can be expensive, lol). I saw his watch channel come up in my feed, but I haven't had a chance to check it out yet. If it's abo...
Thoughts about the "Cheapaudioman" on YouTube
I’ve seen some of his videos. If you’ve never heard, nor owned quality equipment, or are just starting your audio journey, he’s worth a watch. Unfortunately, I’m sort of "way beyond" most of the garbage he seems to peddle/advocate/review. (I’m n...
Component placement for open baffles?
I don't know. My OB's are a couple of feet out into the room. My rack is between them, but situated BEHIND the speakers. Seems to work well for me.
Silver Speaker Cables
@Rodman99999, That's some good stuff right there. "You don't know what you don't know." :)
What’s your latest high-end audio purchase?
I bought a Yamaha CD-S2100 SACD/CD player a couple of months ago.
Change of sound with Deoxit G100
It will settle down, but I'd expect to have to do some tweaking to your system (levels, perhaps adjusting the sub output a bit, a dash of tone adjustment, that sort of thing). If you think about it, it's not really surprising. You cleaned off ox...
