Best CHEAP long under-carpet speaker cable The Alpha Core series of flat cables would fit your needs. Available in bulk as well as pre-made.
Joule, Blue Circle, CAT SL1 As a former LA-100 MkIII owner, get the Joule, it has what you are looking for and is remote ready. I agree with Kenreau, the LAP-150 MkI that Signature Sound has for sale is a great preamp. I had the pleasure of listening to it at RMAF last year....
Review: Bent Audio Tap Linestage Thanks for the clarification. I notice similar attributes of my TVC as you have with your TAP. I am awaiting John's decision on what transformers he will be using in the future, but overall I have been very happy with the S&Bs.
Review: Bent Audio Tap Linestage "2) The tube linestage offered a very good large soundstage, but was far beyond the Tap regarding "air" between the Players and the individual players did not sound as real as they do on the Tap."Perhaps I'm reading it incorrectly, but are you say...
What is new with the Memory Player? Tbg - it was a special audition after exhibit hours arranged by Clement Perry with Rick Schultz. Went from 8 -10pm. That's probably why you didn't notice it.
What is new with the Memory Player? Tbg - I preferred the MP over the Wadia. The Wadia sounded a bit analytical in comparison. Somehow the MP has a way of making digital sound very smooth. I can't really put my finger on it, but it is a very enjoyable presentation. You can get lost ...
What is new with the Memory Player? Doesn't Clement use the model with the DAC in it? I saw him demo the player in the Virtual Dynamics room at RMAF last year and I don't remember a separate DAC being used. The MP was being compared to the Wadia 581 which I believe had GNSC mods. It...
What is new with the Memory Player? Didn't Clement Perry do a review? He has been one of the biggest proponents of this player and owns one.
Gabriel Gold IC's are they really this good? John,I received the cables on 5/30 and they were being burned in for a few days (about 110 hours with signal running through them 24/7) until I had to leave town. I got back Thursday and I continued the process for the last two days so by my count...
Gabriel Gold IC's are they really this good? Bobf, I was away on business last week and have a trip this week as well. The cables have about 150 hours on them. They have been slowly opening up. I can see where they have taken the sound up a couple of notches from the Extreme. The soundstage ...
from Cary 98 to Cary 05 what you gain? Personally I found the Joule Electra LA-100 MkIII to be a significant step up from the SLP-98 which I also owned and was able to do a side to side comparison. The Joule will cost you less than the SLP-05 as well.
Alpha Core Goertz Ctb - typically the zobels are required for solid state amps, but considering their price (evidently they are not free anymore - $20), why not play it safe and get them anyway. I think they are sold in pairs so you need 2. Get the jumpers while yo...
Alpha Core Goertz Ctb - I don't find the cables fragile at at. AC offers a flat design and non-flat design (Serpent series). If you're not careful you can put bends or crinkles in the flat cables (which generally won't break them or even affect the sound), but over...
Alpha Core Goertz I've never had problems with them. I've tried a bunch of their stuff and still have a set of MI-2 Veracity cables. I took advantage of their trial period on products and they were always quick to credit me with a refund. I suppose there is always ...
Gabriel Gold IC's are they really this good? Not to get into semantics here, but I am curious if recessed sound could come from room factors just as easily as it could come from a cable. |
