What is new with the Memory Player?
I heard the player at the RMAF in 2006. The demo was held in the Virtual Dynamics room. In the tests that were performed there was only one song from one CD that IMO did not sound better reproduced by the Memory Player. Of course we're talking abo...

Variations of the Micro Seiki MA505 tonearm
Lewm, On Vinyl Engine there is a copy of the MkIII instruction manual. You do not have VTA on the fly. You have to loosen the lock lever to make the adjustment. There is even a warning to make sure you somehow anchor the arm in the process so it d...
Variations of the Micro Seiki MA505 tonearm
I may have to disagree with Thom on this one, unless I am not understanding his statement. I have the MkI version and it allows VTA (as well as VTF and anti-skating) on the fly. On my arm I twist the lever to loosen it, then I can move the lever t...
Most PRACTICAL, yet good sounding REEL to REEL ???
I have several Naks including the 480, 550, and 680ZX, which was the baby Dragon. I have also owned the 700 and 500. All in all Nak made some excellent decks in the day, right up to the very end. However, one of my favorites is the Tandberg A440 w...
Audio Horizons TP 2.0 Preamplifier
Frankg, if you go on eBay and do a search of 6N23P, some of the ads will have close up photos and you can see examples of the same alphabetical differences previously mentioned. Yes it is somewhat confusing, but the tubes are well worth seeking ou...
Another Cary SLP 98 Tube question
Front pair which according to my inquiry with Cary is the gain stage. The rear tubes are the buffer.
Audio Horizons TP 2.0 Preamplifier
Frankg,I have seen them listed both ways. Evidently this has something to do with the Russian alphabet where the letter H is represented in the English alphabet as an N. Great tubes for the price nonetheless.
Audio Horizons TP 2.0 Preamplifier
The Russian tube that is a replacement for the 6922/6DJ8 is the 6N23P, which is an excellent tube and well worth trying. I don't own this preamp but I have used this tube in a Music Reference RM-9 as a replacement driver for NOS Siemens and I was ...
Does the"quality" of jumpers affect the sound?
Davemitchell,I was afraid you would say that, but so far I'm enjoying the experiment and the sound. I'll try a set of identical cables from the same manufacturer and see what happens.
Does the"quality" of jumpers affect the sound?
Davemitchell,My last post did not seem to get through, or maybe the system is slow so I apologize in advance if this is a duplicate. The data I provided comes from the Spendor spec sheet. You can also see the specs here:http://spendoraudio.com/exp...
Does the"quality" of jumpers affect the sound?
Davemitchell,I have a pair of Spendor 1/2e speakers which are a three way design. The crossover points are 3kHZ and 13kHZ. How would this affect things?
Does the"quality" of jumpers affect the sound?
Well I have tried wiring the positive lead to the top binding post and the negative lead to the lower binding post and was pleased with the results. I had been doing this for about 2 weeks and decided to see if anyone else had the same experience....
Does the"quality" of jumpers affect the sound?
Anyone ever try wiring the positive to the tweeter and negative to the bass while using jumpers?
Cary SLP98 Tube Question
I have also dealt with Len for 6SN7s for my old SLP-98. Very reliable seller and excellent tubes. I have used Tubeseller as well with good results. Andy at Vintage Tube Services is also excellent.
